New Home

Surprise!
I'm back again a day after my last post!

Today I have a card celebrating the purchase of a new home by my massage therapist.  She is the sweetest person and has 2 lovely children (I've met her son and he is adorable).  She's worked so hard to buy this house and I am so proud of her and for her.  So I made this card and bought a bottle of sparkling grape juice and some glasses so that her little family can make a "toast" to their new life in their new home.

The window die is from Memory Box.  The sun is from Lil' Inkers.  I think the trees are IO, but they could be MB, not quite sure.  The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink.  I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I used a couch and a sentiment from PTI.  It's really cute.

I am entering the following challenges:

CUt it Up - inspired by a song (when you wish upon a star)
Stamplorations - dies and stamps
MilkCoffee Challenge - use 2 or more diecuts

I'll be back this week with yet another card - this one is FOR Margaret, so hopefully she will get it before the post!

Thanks for stopping by!

When You Wish Upon a Star...

Oh my...
it has been far too long since I have posted here.
So much has happened.  I've even been to Colorado to visit Margaret.
I've had some health issues that have kept me out of my art room for awhile.  I hope to slowly get back into the swing of things.  My mojo seems to be returning and my desire to create is definitely back.  Now if I can keep health issues at bay, I just may get back to posting regularly!

Tonight I have a card I created for my sister-in-law who is having a birthday this week.  No worries, she doesn't follow my blog, so this won't spoil it for her.

I used a technique I learned at a shop Margaret and I visited when I was in Colorado.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks for the background, spritzed with water and heat dried.  Then I stamped the trees in Black Onyx.  I got this stamp in CO, too.  The sentiment is from Rubbernecker and I just love it.  I added a pewter star from my stash on the purple haze and mounted it on layers.  Easy peasy!

I'm entering the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - Q is for quote
Wags n Whiskers - birthday

I made 3 cards yesterday, so I will post again this week!  Yea!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hot Dog!

As promised, I'm back again with another Father's Day card.

This one depicts a likeness of our grill, which is an orange and silver STOK.  Our little Geena Bea guards it with all her might when her daddy is cooking, not letting the other two dogs anywhere near it.  The sentiment on the inside reads:
"You can tell a lot about your Owners
By how they handle Tangled Leashes,
Rainy Days and Mangled Shoes".

It is produced by Dog Stamps Mas and I don't have a clue where I bought it, but I imagine it was from a trip where I visited local stamp stores.  Of course, Geena Bea stamped her pawprint and told her daddy "happy father's day" and how happy she is to guard his grill...hot dog!

I used Lil Inker stitched dies, MB grill and I'm not certain about the label die.  I used sparkly DCWV paper.

I am entering the following challenges:

Pattie's Creations - Father's Day
The Male Room - Father's Day
MilkCoffee - Father's Day

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time...

Music to our ears

Happy Friday the 13th!
I'm back with a Father's Day card to share.  This one is from our pups to their daddy...

Three little images depicting our 3 little pups.  Not bad likenesses of them, either!  Here's what "they" wrote on the inside:

I used images from a variety of companies.  The dp is from DCWV.  The peek-a-boo die and the pawprint die are both from MFT.  There's a strip of black ribbon behind the peek-a-boo die cut.

I am entering the following challenges:

Pattie's Creations - Father's Day or Wedding
Creative Moments - monochromatic
The Male Room - Father's Day
MilkCoffee Challenge - Father's Day
Crafty Creations - Tic Tac Toe - circles, ribbon, die cuts

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back with another card tomorrow.

Thanks for Caring

Well, no more promises, guesstimates, whatever, regarding how often I will post.  This time it is health issues keeping me away.  Perhaps if I just let life happen, I will be able to get back in the groove!

Today's card is for a very special donor who gave a nice sized donation to the animal rescue for which I volunteer (Out of the Woods).  She doesn't live within a 1000 miles of us, but saw fit to make a contribution that will provide medical care for a number of our babies.  We are so fortunate to have such generous donors, and as the donor/memorial coordinator, I try to make special cards for our special donations.

I used the sketch from MOJO Monday 347.
I am also entering:
Kit & Clowder - flowers

I used stash paper, MFT flower and leaf dies, Lil Inker stitched circle, and Verve sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Margaret!

Well, I guess I wasn't so ready to get back to blogland on a regular basis just yet.  I've been dealing with some medical issues for the last month and that has left me with little energy for much other than just getting through the day.  However, over the past couple of days, I managed to put together a birthday card for my dear friend, Margaret, who, BTW, has become my advisor for all things in the supplement realm.  I am not having much confidence in conventional medicine at this point.  Those guys need lessons in listening and communicating!  Ok, enough of that, on to the card.

But first, let me share a photo of a cute little cardinal baby.  There are actually 3 in the nest, but only one looked at the camera!  This little guy's parents made a nest right out our patio door in a ligustrum shrub.  We watch them coming and going all day long, as we have a feeder visible from our kitchen, and a short diagonal flight from their nest.

This is the first time we have had cardinal babies!

Now for the card...

You will notice that the sentiment says "belated".  Well, that's because her BD is tomorrow but her card is still with me.  Her presents have not arrived yet, so I procrastinated with the card since it will go in the package with the gifts.  So technically, it's not late yet, and she will see it on time, but it won't be in her hands until later!  I had expected her gifts to arrive earlier in the week and then I would expedite them to her, but that just didn't happen.  It'll be okay because it's stamping stuff and that makes it worth the wait! Ha!

Stamps:
PTI - Mehndi Medallion Large
Cas-ual Friday - sentiment
Die:
Spellbinders
Other:
Embossalicious 6" folder
Ranger Gold Fine Detail Embossing Powder
DCWV magenta cs
Copics

I am entering the following challenges:

Seize the Birthday - flowers or AG
Southern Girls - Dots and Spots
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - Circles and Squares
Sparkle & Sprinkle - AG with embossing

Thanks for stopping by!  I "intend" to be back soon!

Happy Birthday Margaret!!!

You're My Top Dog

As promised, I'm back with card 2 for my DH.
This one is from the dogs...

This is as CAS as it can be, which is totally not my style.  However, this beautiful stamp is so stunning that I did not want to overshadow it with embellishments! I used Spellbinders Labels #4 to cut out the image which is from Inky Antics by the Shady Tree Studio.  It comes in a set with 3 sentiments and a cat/bird scene, as well.  I am in love with the beauty of this stamp and there is a story there.

Our sweet Schmitzy that we lost just before Thanksgiving had a love/hate relationship with tortoises.  So much so that my DH bought me a tortoise charm necklace for Christmas in memory of our dear boy.  Schmitzy would find them in the woods, even when deeply hidden amongst leaves and brush.  He would then pick one up and carry it around, all the while growling.  I would take it away from him and go hide it in another part of the woods.  N.o tortoises were ever harmed other than frightened by their ride in my dog's mouth.  One particular one had been marked with nail polish by someone and this one came back repeatedly!  So when I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to have it!  What is really cool is that I won this set!!!  Anyway, this will be to Glenn from Sammie, Geena Bea and Abigail.

I am entering the following challenges:

Time Out - birthday with optional masculine twist
Tok Bobok -CAS
Simon Says Stamp - animal antics
Crafting Musketeers - monochrome

That's it for now.  Thanks for stopping by!
