Hi all,
Once Monday rolls around, my mind is a one way street: work and more work. So I forgot I made this card for my daughter and never posted it!
I have a game I play with her where it's the I love you, I love you MORE, I love you MOST battle of words. So I thought this was so appropriate for her Valentine's Day Card. She loved it. (And I love working with these Greeting Farms girls!)
I am entering this card in the Paper Crafting Journey: Love is in the Air Challenge.
I spoke with Kathy and her year already is going down the tubes. Now her dear friend is diagnosed with cancer with a grim, and short prognosis--and her dog Sadie, who is 16 years old, is also getting sick a little bit more than normal. This is why she hasn't posted in a while--just too overwhelmed with life in general. But I think she will try to come back slowly--I reminded her how art is therapy. I also keep telling her she needs to move to Colorado to be near me…so let's keep our fingers crossed this will happen eventually. I also learned that my parents are thinking of moving near me--I cannot tell you how thrilled I am (if this actually does happen). With them getting older, I worry who will help them when they need it. It will be good for all of us. My daughter already said how she'll be hanging out there for the good Polish cooking. LOL Well, will be back for sure tomorrow with a post. Thanks for stopping by!

Deconstructed sketch 138: Pucker up
Hi everyone!
It's already mid February and I realize how terribly neglected our blog has gotten. I can only post about 1-2 times a week with my crazy schedule. Kathy has a bunch of cards ready to post but she's been having a banger of a year already. Between feeling low with Schmitzy going towards the Rainbow Bridge, excessive bad weather keeping them busy outside and not being able to get in her room for a while…she now has found out that her dear friend Kathy has been diagnosed with pretty advanced liver cancer. I know this woman--but not well like Kathy does. (they're both named Kathy…not a typo). She started Out of the Woods Rescue in Arkansas…taking in all the dogs that the competing rescues didn't want. All donations (yes 100%) went to the dogs so Kathy was doing this completely on her own time (and often dime). She is a good good soul and I just hope she will be one of those miracles you hear about where she beats this. I will be making her a card this week to hopefully cheer her up. In the meantime, Kathy is trying to help with Out of the Woods and is spending time with Kathy. She will be back soon...
In the meantime, I am posting today a card for my daughter Claudia. Yes it is a late Valentine's Day card but there simply wasn't time to make it on time… and sleep. Anyway, I found this wonderful sketch on Deconstructed Sketch (#138)…you should check out that blog because there are some beautiful cards using this sketch. I've decided my favorite type of challenge is the sketch type challenges. The challenges that don't have sketches, like "use blue and pink" blow my mind--I think I'm not creative enough so I need more structure. LOL. Even if I do that, I still need to find a sketch. I absolutely love sketches.
Well, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. We are having beautiful sunny skies, not a cloud visible, dry and 70's--can it please just stay like this forever? …hard to believe just less than 2 weeks ago we had -22!
Well, thanks for stopping by--if you have not forgotten us. :) Have a good week and I know this week I will keep the blog going a bit more as I made several cards last night to share (and all my huge deadlines were last week).

I hope you feel better
Hi Everyone,
I hope your week has gone great. We got some COLD COLD weather. It's been an eventful week. At -22 one of the days, our sprinklers exploded where I work…not only did it flood all of our offices, but the ceilings started coming down and one person got hurt. They're OK but a bit in shock. Two days later, the temps ran up to almost 50!
On top of that, one of my coworkers was in a meeting when she got a call…her husband collapsed. He was scheduled for heart surgery next month, but due to this, he had an emergency heart surgery. Later that evening he had a stroke. So a week later, today, he is finally heading in the right direction. He has been moved to a regular room and will shortly begin rehab when he regains his strength. He is very weak but all signs point to a good recover. So my card today is for him for all of us coworkers to sign. It has several pages for all of us to have room to sign...
I am entering this card into Jo's Scrap Shack Anything Goes Challenge. I had a blast making this card and I hope he gets a chuckle too--he's a great person, with a good sense of humor. I really hope he will be OK.
Here's to hoping for a warmer week, though I think our frigid weather is moving east. I'm ready for Spring…aren't you?
Thanks for stopping by! Margaret

For my sister and her husband
Hello everyone!
What a GLORIOUS day it was today--it snowed and snowed and snowed yesterday and today (I am attaching a photo of my Daisy…she was completely in her element). Of course, getting an alert saying we are in warning of an avalanche for the last two days was quite humorous. Even though we are the base of the Rockies, it really doesn't look like we are in danger of an avalanche! Looking online, I found out it was in the ski slopes areas. I am used to fire warnings, flood warning, winter weather advisories, tornado, hurricane, chinooks (high wind)…but the avalanche was a new one. :)
So, after working for about 6 hours, I needed a break and went to my art room to make a card. I was really wanting to use the die set I treated myself with this Christmas--it's from Spellbinders. I outlined one of the hearts with liquid pearls and added a stamp flourish from one of those dollar bin stamps from Michael's. This one is for my sister and husband and I am entering it into the following two challenges:
Scrap It Girls': February's Challenge_Hearts
Cupboard Trilogy: Challenge 19 Love
We are expecting below zero temps this coming week. BRRRR. Hope everyone is staying warm. I must admit, I'm ready for it to be spring so I can get out there and walk without freezing or slipping on this ice! Thanks for stopping by. :) Margaret
