Hi, It's Me

It was actually great to be back at work today.  Now I am looking forward to having my root canal tomorrow so I don't have that kind of pain again!

I have a Pure Innocence card for you tonight.  The image is digital and the sentiment is from a different PI set.

The sketch if from the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I paper-pieced her dress and colored the rest of the image with Copics.  DP is from KI and cs is DCWV.  The sentiment is punched out with an SU! punch & the flower is from Prima.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheer Up

Oh my, I have to go to work tomorrow after being off a week.  Ugh!  I will be so happy to see my co-workers, but getting back into the swing of things after being off sick  is not a pleasant thought!  Okay, enough whining.

My card is fitting for how I am feeling!

This is an Elisabeth Bell design.  I used the sketch from last week's Allsorts challenge.
I am entering this in the Scrapper's Delight Challenge - April showers,
The Crafty Pad - April Showers bring May Flowers, &
Basic Grey - 1,2,3 challenge (1 image, 2dp [both are BG] 3 embellies {flower, ribbon and tag).

Enjoy the Moment

Well, it appears that Margaret and I are on a roll.  I, too, have a card for Glenn.  He will get this one in 23 days, when I leave home to visit Margaret and the girls for a week.  He has already informed me of his plans to do some grilling, cook some of his favorite cajun dishes, and watch lots of auto racing (Formula One, et. al.) over Memorial Day weekend while I am gone and he is off work.

This is an MFT image I received from them digitally as a giveaway a long, long time ago called For the Boys.  I printed the image on 6 different sheets of dp & cs, and as you can see, I paper-pieced everything, except for the framed sentiment.  Enjoy the moment wording is a stamp from a PaperTrey set.  The picture frame is actually the door of a piece of furniture that I stamped and then cut out and colored with Copics.  I think he will get a kick out of it.

Hope you are having a good weekend.  Only 3 more days until my root canal.  Who would ever think one would be happy at the thought?

I almost forgot...I will be entering this in the following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges - paper piecing,
Daring Cardmakers - male and sport (this sport is watching sports on tv, ha!),

Belated Birthday

Hello and happy Saturday!  I am posting a card today that will come as a surprise to Kathy.  Her husband's birthday was last week and I couldn't get my act together until today.  So I made him a card with his favorite subject: Dogs.  Except he has a very different kind of sense of humor so as you can see from the card behind the dog is a sign that says "Censored" and you can imagine what that is! LOL.  Anyway, this image is by Craft Lounge, the Sun is by Darcee's (inside the sun it says "Sunny Wishes") and the sentiment is Art Gone Wild, "Words to Remember by Steve Fadie" collection.  If you cannot make out the sentiment, it says "To my down to earth body, Who's older than dirt"  (As you can see I have a unique sense of humor too...haha).  The birthday cake is by Michael's G collection series (old stamp).  Patterned paper by Stampin Up and Jewel by Recollections.  I hope it puts a smile on his face as he is having a poopy week...no pun intended.  Enjoy! Margaret

Blog Candy

As I was surfing tonight I discovered some blog candy and thought I would share.
and put your name on the list!  See you there!

Just Waiting For You

Happy Friday one and all!
I have a Basic Grey/Lockhart card for you tonight.

I spent a little time organizing my stamps today and ran across this chair, which I love.  We used to have a pair and they were so comfy, though they don't look like they would be.  But that was several moves ago, they are long gone.  So I inked up this one, colored it with Copics, used nesties, Memory Box and Clear Dollar Stamps dies and added a ton of rhinestones (probably over did it, but I like bling and I haven't felt like making cards for days...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!).

I am entering this at Pollycraft Monday Challenges, as this is where I got the sketch, & Basic Grey Challenges, as the dp is entirely Basic Grey Gypsy.

Thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations Graduate

Happy Friday!  Today I am posting a simple card I made for a former student when she was graduating.  I figure this will get me into the mood for making graduation cards as I have a student who is graduating in a few weeks--a real hard worker too!  The stamp is an Elzybelle (no longer in service) and the sentiment is SU.I love this stamp because this image looks very much like her...long blonde hair and always smiling.  The oval shape is cut out with nestablities and I put some of the pearl paint around the edges.  I'll try to make more cards this weekend to post.  Enjoy!  Margaret

Have a Yappy Day!

Hello!  I'm here with another quickie post.  Still on pain meds for this awful abscess.
Today's card is a get well/how are you doing card for an agility training classmate that had surgery last week.

I stamped the image several times, colored and cut out parts and attached them with 3M tape, mounted the base image on black and stamped the sentiment (SU! 2003) on the card.

I am entering this at Crafter's Companion - 4-legged friends.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi There!

Hello!  I am here with a quick post. My tooth is still hurting and I can't wait for my root canal next week.

This image is a digital from Fred She Said, cut out, popped up, paper pierced and mounted on bright yellow cs.  Somehow, all the paper snipping was therapeutic in my current condition.

I will be entering this in the yellow challenge at The Pink Elephant and 2 Sisters Challenge and Freshly Brewed for the Tie it Up Birthday Candy challenge!!!  Happy Birthday Month Heather!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Time to party

Hi everyone,
Kathy is really sick so I'm hoping to relieve her of posting today.  Luckily, I have a card in my stash that I had not posted yet.  This was an invitation I made for my daughter's birthday party for a sleepover.  The stamp is a DeNami stamp.  The birthday gift stamp seen on the tag are from an old stash of those $1 Michaels bins specials.  I'm not sure who made the sentiment but I think it's from a Verve collection.  The paper is probably retired now.  I purchased it several years ago (and unfortunately don't remember who made it) :)  Enjoy! Margaret

Rainy Day

Not really...just feel that way.  I am stuck in the house with an awful tooth abcess.  I haven't felt like doing anything but take drugs and sleep it off.  However, this am I got up, found an image I previously colored, and put it together in time to meet the MFTWSC deadline of noon.  Not sure if that is EDT, or CDT, or whatever, but my photo made it in the gallery.  THen I decided I didn't like how it looked, so I rerranged, cut, and put it back together, took a new photo and hope it will show up in lieu of the first one, which I didn't even doctor in Photoshop!

I actually had this pad sitting on my desk when I sat down and decided it would work with this image.  I used SU! punches for the flower, Robins Nest baubles, a Memory Box die for the border (Comment: if these die companies don't start putting the company names on the dies, I am not going to remember soon, because my collection is getting way too large to know which die came from which company since all the silver ones look alike but come from various companies).  Guess it is a good problem to have, because it means I have quite a selection! HA!  All paper is Basic Grey Gypsy, except for the stamped image which is MFT on Xerox cs (which I just ran out of and can no longer find :(. It didn't feather and I paid $16 for 250 sheets.  Don't buy Wassau 110 lb., it does not play well with Copics).

I am also entering this at Basic Grey Challenges - spring colors,
Stamp and Create - spring,
Crafty Catz Challenge - stripes, &
Lexi's Creations - punches and dies.

Time for some lunch and penicillin.  Maybe I can manage a 2nd post today since I missed yesterday.  We'll see.  Have a good day!

Fairy Happy Birthday

Hi all,
I thought I'd share a card I made yesterday.  I am so behind in cards!  This one is one month belated...I have a whole bunch on my plate to do!  UGH.  Anyway, I'm excited about this one.  Kathy purchased this stamp for me...it was SO much fun coloring her and putting glitter all over her wings!  I really didn't even want to put her on the card at all -- I wanted to save her for my own viewing pleasure, but I figure now I'll be motivated to use the stamp again.  Anyway, this stamp is called "Silver Fairy" by Whimsy Stamps.  She is popped up on foam tape behind a background stamp from a retired collection from Stampin Up.  Colored with Copics.  Enjoy! Thanks for looking...Margaret

Get Back In The Game

I'm here with a quick post tonight.  I've had a toothache all weekend.  No fun.

I'm a huge baseball fan.  I embossed the stamp image with old gold.  It will make a good get well card.

Hopefully I will feel better after seeing my dentist tomorrow and will b back to my old creative self.

A Friend is a Gift You Give Yourself

I hope you had a wonderful Saturday.  It was absolutely beautiful here and we spent a lot of time outdoors.  Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same, before becoming more like summer during the work week.  I'm pleasantly surprised that we had such great weekend weather, however, it did keep me out of the studio.  I do have 1 card to share with you this evening.   I used an old Magnolia stamp and the buildings are also from Magnolia.  The dog is from Anita's and the sentiment is from Kaiser.

I popped up the clouds (MFT), the sentiment, Tilda and the dog using 3M tape.  I used Copics for all the coloring after stamping the images with Versamark and embossing them (makes staying within the lines REALLY easy & quick).  The dog and sentiment are not embossed.

I'll be entering this in challenges at Magnolia-licious - color challenge, It's a Magnolia Challenge - spring, and Stamp & Create - spring.

Thanks for stopping by!

We NEED Girl Time!

Isn't it true?  Don't we all NEED girl time?  My girl time with Margaret and the girls is just 31 days away!  This card is for reminding us of that!!!

I used Mod Marci from La La Land Crafts (don't ya just love that name?).  I think she is so stinkin' cute!  I colored her with Copics and cut her out with a nestie, mounted her on American Crafts dp, and added a Michael's rhinestone flourish and ribbon bow.  I used SU! punches for the tag and the sentiment, on of my faves, is from Inkadinkado.  I used Memento ink for the image and sepia Versafine for the tag.  I used a tad of Uniball Signo white on her cheeks and eyes.

I am entering this in the challenge at Joanna Sheen - someone special and putting it in the gallery at LaLaLand.  I am also entering it in the Tie it Up challenge at Freshly Brewed for the Birthday Candy!!!  Happy Birthday Heather!

I apologize for missing yesterday's post.  Unfortunately, our internet service went down again.  It worked out okay, though, since it was my DH's birthday, so he got some extra attention since neither of us could get on the net!!!

If I can get my act together, I'll post again to make up for yesterday!
Thanks for stopping by.

A note of thanks

Hello everyone,
Here's a little thank you note I made I thought I'd share.  The paper and sentiment is all Stampin Up.  The Magnolia Flower is one of the very first few stamps I ever purchased.  It's by All Night Media.  It is cut apart and popped up with foam tape (See photo 2). It has ALOT of glitter on it to make it pop! It's one of my favorite stamps and gets used so very often!  Enjoy the card and your weekend.  Margaret

Happy Summer

Happy Hump Day!
One more day for me to work, yea!  Maybe I can manage more art room time this weekend.  I was "deprived" last weekend!!!

I'm here with an image from the Pink Cat set "Lily at the Beach".  Margaret's kids go to NC every summer, so I like to send them cards.  I am getting a head start so I have some ready to go!

I used my Copics and Spicas to color the image.  DP is from KI.  I used a nestie to cut out the image.  Sentiment is from CC Designs, punched out with SU! punches.  Ribbon is from Papertrey.

I am entering this in challenges at Lexi's Creations - dies/punches,
PartyTime Tuesdays - color/picture inspiration.

Bright Pink Flowers

.Happy Tuesday, though it is almost done!  It's my evening to take Geena Bea to agility class and we had a really good one tonight!  We both worked really hard.  That is why I am posting so late!

My card tonight is a bright spring card.  There is no sentiment on the outside.  It could be used for a variety of occasions.

The image is from Inkadinkado.  I used SU! Melon Mambo ink, colored with Copics, and added a crocheted flower for the center.  DP is from KI and cs is from DCWV.  I added 6 pearls for a little bling.

The sketch is from SFYTT.  It's the 2nd time I've used it recently.  I REALLY like this sketch!

I am also entering it over at 2 Sisters Challenge - flower in the image,
Bizzy Becs - texture,
Bling It On - monochrome, and
Stamp n Doodle - april showers/may flowers.

Hectic day at work...I woke up 3.5 hours before my alarm went off, ugh!  But I do have a card for you that I made yesterday.  The sketch is from MFT.

I love these Pure Innocence stamps!  This one is called Sunshiney Day and I colored her with my Copics.  The dp is Echo Park Springtime.  I added 3 candies from Michaels, scallop is a Memory Box die and the image is cut out with nesties.  I used a Taylored Expressions die to cut out the sentiment, which is also PI.

I am also entering this over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle - pastels,

Beeee Happy!

We're sitting here waiting for the storms to hit.  We are already under a tornado watch.  It's going to be a rough night, I'm afraid.  I gave Sadie some Composure now and will give her more later when the storms hit.  Oh boy...

Okay, I have a fun little card for you today.  I used Ima Butterfly from C.C. Designs.  I think this is such a cute little stamp!

I colored her with Copics and Spicas and cut her out with a new Nestie (for me), added Papertrey ribbon, a stampendous sentiment punched out with an SU! punch and added 3 Martha Stewart daisies with glittery centers.

I am entering her in challenges at 7 Kids College Fund - die cuts/punches and All That Scraps - anything goes and PaperPlay Challenges - things with wings.

If weather permits, I may be back with another post this evening!

May Sunshine & Laughter

Happy Saturday!
I am here today with a card for the challenge at Sentimental Sundays.  It's a simple card, but elegant.  I love black and white!

I used a silhouette stamp of girls playing from Paper Angel, cut it out with a Nestie, mounted it on BoBunny dp, and added a row of pearls.  The sentiment is from Amuse, cut out with a Sizzix die, also adorned with pearls.

I am also entering this at Stamped Blessings - spring,  Freshly Brewed Designs - friendship, & Creative Belli - child.

Looks like we have storms on the way...ugh!  We have so many beautiful flowers blooming, I hate seeing them pounded by hard rainfall :(.

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby

Hi there!
I work at a children's hospital and there is always someone pregnant, so I like to have a few cards on hand for those occasions.
Tonight's card uses the sketch from CardPatterns.

I used a digi stamp from Designed2Delight.  I really like all the detail on this baby buggy!  I colored it with my usual, ie Copics and Spicas!  I embossed the card base with a Sizzix folder.  I used nesties for the design and scallop.  The flower came from Hobby Lobby.  The sentiment is from Pink Persimmon and was cut with a die from Memory Box.  I added 2 itty bitty pearls on each side of baby.

That's all I have for tonight.  Hopefully I will get some time in the studio over the weekend, in between spring chores!!!

Friends

Tonight's card uses an image from Freshly Brewed Designs.  I like this one because I'm a native San Franciscan and watched the 60's as a little kid.  Ahhh, memories!

I paper-pieced this beauty using prints and solids from Ava from Basic Grey. The card base is from the same pad.  Flower is from Prima, ribbon and punch are from SU! and I used my trusty nestie oval.  She is colored with Copics and Spicas.  I added some Robin's Nest baubles and a couple of pearls by the sentiment, which is from Pink Cat Studio.  They are having a big ol' birthday party over at Freshly Brewed, so you might want to stop by and play!

I am also entering this at Wags n Whiskers - Anything Goes and Sundays with Crissy - favorite color combo (green & purple).

Allergies have got me down tonight - no energy, sore throat, just over all malaise.  Hopefully a good night's sleep will cure these ills and I can do more in my studio tomorrow after work.

Thanks for stopping by.

Let It Snow!

Not really!!!
I just thought I would get started on my Christmas cards.  I am truly inspired after being a winner over at ABC Christmas Challenge!  I got my 7 digis from Bugaboo today and can't wait to play with them.  However, it is Tuesday, so after working all day I had agility class with Geena Bea.  I didn't get home until 9pm and tonight the teacher talked to me about promoting GB to the 7:30 class, which means I won't get home until after 10pm.  DH isn't so happy about that, so we may stay in this class awhile longer!  So this is the reason I am posting so late night...geez, it's almost tomorrow!

I used the sketch from SFYTT, which I really, really like.  The image and sentiment are from Pink Cat Studio.  The dp is Provo Craft and I pierced the edges of the cs.   Though it is difficult to see in the photo, it really stands out in person.  I added blue rhinestones to the snowflakes of the sentiment and colored the image with Copics and Spicas.  I used an SU! punch and nesties to cut out the designs.  I will be using this sketch again!!!

I am also entering this at:
Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog - christmas
Christmas Inspirations - 3 geometric forms (circle, rectangle, & square[dp])
Christmas Stampin - fave color combo
Weekly Christmas Card Challenges - winter-themed
Crazy 4 Challenges - Blue & White + add a color

Thanks for stopping by!  Gotta get this posted, tomorrow is only 8 minutes away!

You're invited

Hello!  It's me Margaret.  Today I am posting a card that I made for Claudia's friend to invite her to dinner and a movie to celebrate her birthday.  Doesn't really look like an invite but it was Claudia's request to use this girl (Penny Black).  She is popped up on foam tape and I used a lot of stickles on her cupcake.  Colored the image with Copics.  Enjoy!!!

Medallion

I'm back today with a monochrome effort for the challenge over at Paper Pretties.  I just got this stamp set from JustRite and I am really enamored with it. I added little pearls throughout the design for a little bling.

I used the custom Nestie dies produced for this stamp set and mounted the stacked images on an MFT diecut.  Tied Denami ribbon into a bow using my trusty Bow-Easy and mounted it on a strip taped to the cardstock.
Ta Da...it is done!

I am also entering this at Papertake Weekly, Simon Says (BigShot is my favorite tool), Crop Stop, Crafty Catz, and Bling It On
Thanks for stopping by!

Mr. Fix It

I don't know if you are as lucky as me, but I have my very own Mr. Fix-It.  He can do absolutely anything from fixing planes and computers to building houses, and everything in between.  Well, Mr. Fix-It's birthday is coming up in 11 days so I got busy with MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge and made his BD card EARLY!  Now that is an accomplishment for me!!!

I had a lot of fun with this one, since I spend so much of my time doing girly things.  I got out my cork, woodgrain paper, micro-mini brads, Tim Holtz ruler  and license plate papers, my MFT tool dies, zigzag die, and Fred Fix-It, along with my Copics and sharp snips.

I think he will like this card because it is definitely more manly than most of what I make!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Celebrate

Celebrate Today and hope the pollen is gone tomorrow.  I don't know about you, but everything in, around and near my house has a yellow coating on it, including my dogs.  We are all suffering from allergies right now.  Sneezing, rubbing our eyes, ugh!  I love spring but I hate pollen!

Today I have a card using a freebie digi from Freshly Brewed Designs. I think it is the cutest design for a tween's bd!

I had the image colored, but couldn't get it together in time to send to Claudia for her birthday yesterday.  I used really bright Copics to color her and used matching cd to frame her 4 times.  I added sparkle with my Spicas.  The fleur de lis is from my Nestie collection.  I used my SU! punches for the sentiment, which comes from Papertrey.  I tied a white polka dotted ribbon around the matted section before I taped it to the card base.  Flowers are from Michaels and the sparkly pink brad is Memory Makers.

I am entering Heather's the month-long challenge over at  Freshly Brewed Designs.  She is having a For My Birthday Blog Candy.   Be sure to check it out.
I am also entering her at Sweet n' Sassy, where I used sketch SSS114. and The Poodles Parlour, which is dots.

Hope you enjoy~!

Tulips in a Wheelbarrow

We spent the bulk of the day outdoors. It was an absolutely beautiful day here.  I can't wait for a repeat tomorrow!
My card today is reminiscent of our day.  I chose a Magnolia stamp but I did not use any characters.

It's definitely large enough to stand on it's own.  I colored the image with Copics and Spicas, and cut it out with a nestie.  I added a Cheery Lynn doily in the background.  the dp is ancient stash from Hobby Lobby and cs is DCWV.  This IS springtime!

I also want to share with you that I was in the top 3 in the last challenge at Bizzy Becs.  They have really great challenges.  You may want to check them out!!!
I have some ideas floating in my head for some cards.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to spend some time in my studio in the afternoon.  My husband and I have a date night tomorrow evening!

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy The Simple Things In Life

Good Evening!
I am here with a "boy" card tonight-a rarity for me since I pretty much only have little girls in my life.  I took on the challenge over at CES Challenge for a "No Girls Allowed" card.  In doing this, I also chose to follow the color challenges at Pink Gem and By Lori Designs.  I used the sketch from Deconstructingjen.  Wow, that was a lot of combining for me!!!

I used the Ethan Lollipop stamp, papers from my stash, sentiment & punches from Stampin' UP! and die from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to spend a little time in my studio this weekend, but with weather in the 70's, I may NEED to be outside!

Just Sittin' Here Thinkin' of You!

Ah, one more day of work this week!  My DH is taking Friday off so we will probably have a workday around the house.  That's a good thing, though, since we just moved here 5 months ago and it is our first Spring!  We have so much blooming!  Our yard is incredibly beautiful, despite the weeds! HA!

Okay, onto the card.  I did a CAS card tonight.  Not my normal style, but there is a challenge out there that "made" me do it!

I used the photo inspiration over at Our Craft Lounge and combined it with the CAS challenge over at The Pink Elephant.  I really prefer to have lots of layers, bling and elements, but it is good to try different things.  The ribbon label is from Memory Box and I used my Nesties for the bunnies.  Ribbon is a scrap from my stash.  We received a card in the mail from our old neighbor and I was inspired to make this card, though I have already made one for her for Easter.  I think she will get this one instead!

That's it for now.  Thanks for dropping by!

I {Heart} Nature

It's another wet night up on the mountain.  We are having storms once again.  So far, no tornados!  I have been busy in my studio this evening, though I don't have too much to show for it.  I have had to deal with my anxiety-ridden 14-yo schnauzer, Sadie, who is so fearful of storms.  She has been trying to dig her way thru the bathroom throw rug all the way to China.  Poor baby.

So while all the storms are going on outside, I decided to make a nature kind of card.

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop with stamps from Unity and Stampin' Up!  The Fleur de Lis frame is from Nestabilities and is one of my faves.  I used 2 rhinestones, a flower from Martha Stewart and a pearl pick.  I used my Copics for coloring the image and  popped it up with 3M tape.  DP is KI and cs is DCWV.

Thanks for stopping by!

Be Yourself

It was back to the office today after working at home for a week while we had workmen here.  I am glad to be in my studio this evening, listening to March Madness, hoping Kentucky (SEC) beats Kansas.  I have to root against Kansas, after all, I went to college at Nebraska!!!

Okay, on to the card.  I used the Mojo Monday sketch.  Getting on top of it this week, not waiting to the last minute!

The sentiment is from Stamp Oasis.  The dp has been in my stash for a long time.  It is from Provo Craft.  I used DCWV cardstock for the rickrack (MFT die) and card base.  The roses are also from an MFT die, while the sentiment is cut out with a nestie.  I added lots of rhinestones.  This card is very bright and it makes me happy to look at it!

Hope you enjoy!

I am also entering this at Lexi's Creations and in the Anything Goes challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays.

Dog Days

Finally I am back online.  Being without internet service is really a downer!  I have a fun little card for you tonight that I actually started awhile back.  I just couldn't get it together.  So I took the parts out tonight, found a sketch, and put it together.  Funny how sometimes things click and sometimes they don't!

This is a Taylored Expression stamp combined with papers & ribbon from my doggie stash drawer.  The sentiment is from Lasting Impressions.  I colored the image with Copics and Spicas and added a red Swarovski to the "o" of Dog. The sketch comes from the Bizzy Becs Challenge

Again, I am so happy to be back again after a 2 day involuntary hiatus.
I look forward to being back with another card tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by to visit!

Little Angel Baby

Greetings and salutations this fine Sunday morning.  Who would ever think Colorado could get 81 degrees on April 1?  Usually they're battling snowstorms this time of year.  But I'm not complaining. :)  And no this is not an April Fool's joke!

So today, I am posting a card I had made for someone who had a baby.  All the dies, stamps and sentiments are Stampin Up! Edge punch is Martha Stewart.  Enjoy!  - Margaret
