Belated Manly Birthday

Hello everyone!
Margaret here.  Coming back slowly from a 2 week hiatus--my classes started and I've been having construction going on in my house--with no access to the art room.  I was so excited to get in there today but had one unfortunate surprise: DUST  EVERYWHERE.  Dust on every stamp, every ink pad, every marker...WHOA.  I was overwhelmed to say the least.  All this and the area was taped off.  So I'll be working on getting that place cleaned up while I get myself back into stamping.

I thought I'd take it easy easing my way back in...usually if I haven't created anything in a while, I spill the embossing powder, put paper together crookedly, cut wrong...you know Murphy's Law of Stamping! LOL.  Wasn't too bad today though.  I was inspired by Challenge #40 Double for CAS Colours and Sketches Blog.  It is a double challenge: a sketch and colors of dark blue (Night of Navy), light blue (Marina Mist) and white (Whisper White).  Gave me another chance to use more mandalas. :)  This card is for my brother in law and it is belated...it is always so hard to create for a man!  But I think between the colors and the pattern, it works really well.

Thanks for stopping by today--it fees good to be back!  Margaret

Kick Off Your Boots

Hi Everyone!
I'm back with a card I made because I wanted to use the stamp.
Ever do that?  Don't know what I will use it for just yet,
but I like how it turned out!

I used the sketch at Die Cut Divas.  The stamp is from Copper Leaf Creations and it is one that I picked up on one of my trips out-of-state.  He's a cute little guy, don't ya think?  Happy, for sure!  I used Nesties, MFT dies for the star and horseshoe charms, and a Martha Stewart punch for the loopy borders.  The sentiment is from MFT, The dp is MME Dolled Up and the cs is DCWV.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Card Crafter's Circle - For the Boys
QKR Stampede - Kick up your heels
Inky Impressions - Animals

Thanks for stopping by!  Margaret will be here tomorrow!

Have a Zoo-rific Day

Hi!
I am so ready for this holiday weekend (it's Labor Day in the US).
My husband took off tomorrow, so we will have a 4-day weekend.  I may need to plan a girls' day out one day, LOL!

I made a quick little card tonight.  It came together rather easily!

I used an old Cornish Heritage Farm stamp set from the Kim Hughes Collection.  The cute little peacock colors up really quickly!  I pulled out some Doodlebug dp and found this stripe that coordinated beautifully.  I had originally started out with a different sketch, but switched to this one from The House That Stamps Built.  The cs is Bazzill and I used 3 different colors of Swarovskis for bling.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Nutcrafters - spots &/or stripes
Crazy Challenge - animals
Cards in Envy - Birds, A2 size

Thanks for stopping by!
I think Margaret is back tomorrow, but if not, I will be here!

Happy Holidays

I thought summer was gone, but we are supposed to be at 100 degrees all this holiday weekend :(.  There goes the electric bill, but it means more time inside and you know where I will be!!!

Tonight I have a Christmas card.  It's been a little while since I posted one.  I used a digi image on this one.

This sweet little one is from Stamp Fairy.  She is colored with Copics and Spicas.  I used the sketch from Feeling Sketchy.  My papers are from Memory Box circa 2009.  I used SU! punches with the sentiment from PTI, stamped with Versafine Olympia Green.  The tree is a composite of 2 different IO dies.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Crafty Boots - Christmas in August
Fashionista - Christmas
Hobby House - Christmas

Thanks for stopping by!
Busy day tomorrow...new windshield for husband's car, meet friend at Starbucks and play with her baby, drop off baby gift at work for Friday's shower, try to work in a massage, Wal-Mart run, and then a 4-day weekend with my husband and furbabies.  Fun, huh?!
See you tomorrow, then Margaret will be back...

Para tu bebe

Do I speak Spanish?  Well, hardly.
But one of the nurses in our Medical Home clinic does and she takes care of our Hispanic babies.  She is soon to have a baby boy of her own.  Her first!
So I took advantage of the situation and made her this card with a
greeting in Spanish.

I made her a green/yellow/white baby afghan as a gift to  -along with the card since I didn't know until recently that she is having a boy.
I used an SU! stamp and a Spellbinders embossing folder.  The die is from Lil' Inkers.  I colored the image with Copics and Spicas.  If you visit my blog with any regularity, you will know I make CAS cards very infrequently because I have a real brain block with making them look just so.

I am entering the following challenges:

Scribbles Designs - Clean and Simple
Craft-Room Challenge - Something new (Spellbinders embossing folder)
Shopping Our Stash - For the boys (hope baby boys count!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Nature's Way

It's Friday, not Monday.
However, I made this card last night and planned to post it on Monday, but I haven't made anything tonight to post.  So...you get Monday's card tonight!  Does that make sense?  If not, check out the card...

This is a Bugaboo image and I just love the attitude that exudes from her!
I used Authentique Essentials dp and DCWV cs.  The image is colored with Copics and Spicas.  The sketch comes from Pals Paper Arts.  I used EK punches for the sentiment.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Ruby's Rainbow - food or drink

Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully I can spend some time in my art room since Margaret is kicked out of hers for the time being!

Cheers! It's your birthday!

Hello everyone!  I'm baaaaack!  It's Margaret (in case you forgot who I was) :)

I've been pretty dead tired with the girls being back, my father here and trying to get ready for my classes (starting next week).  On top of that there's construction going on in my house...lots of business and no access to stamp room.  But I was able to swipe a card I made last week and didn't get a chance to post yet to bring you a post today.

It's my sister's birthday coming up in September (yes the same one who just delivered the baby).  So I made her this card...maybe just a little teaser since she can't drink right now (not that she is a big drinker anyway).   I'm entering my card in the Seize the Birthday Challenge.

Below the card photos are some other photos I thought I'd share...I hope you enjoy!  We had a huge hail storm--we get them alot in Colorado, but this is by far the worst I've seen yet--it was so loud I thought my windows would crack and Daisy was shaking, even with Composure!

Well...thanks for stopping by--and welcome to all of our new followers!  Margaret

Details:
Stamp: Unity
Sentiment: Papertrey
Edging: Martha Stewart
Die Cut: Spellbinders
Paper: Echo Park
Other: Swarovski crystals, twine, pearls

Hail storm!  Yes...this is HAIL...not snow...

Rain or Shine

It's Design Team B day at Aud Sentiments.
This is my card for the challenge.

Stamp Art Designs by Kathryne provided the team with images.  I chose to use Ari & Toby, a darling pair, don't you think?
I colored the image with Copics and Spicas.  I used the sketch from the Fusion Challenge, but it is too late to enter it.  I used an MFT die for the banner, a Cheery Lynn die for the filigree butterfly with Swarovski crystal, a Sizzix die for the little butterflies and Nesties for the ovals.  The DP is Basic Grey Urban Prairie.  On the inside, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment with Versamark Black Onyx:

The sentiment is from MFT and I used a Spellbinders label die for the pink background.

I am entering the following challenges:

Sugar Creek Hollow - A child's life
My Creative Moments - Childhood
Seemacrafts - Butterfly
Cards Galore - Bingo (gems, diecuts, inks)

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to stop by Aud Sentiments and check out the rest of the team's creations!

Be YOU!

It's my busiest day and usually I don't get to post until after 10pm.  I'm sneaking this one in early today!!!
I really like the card I made today.  It looks more elegant than I had thought it would.  I think embossing helps give it that look.

I used the sketch from Flutterby Wednesday.  The dp is KaiserCraft Gypsy Sisters and it is really a cool pad!  I stamped the image (Unity) with VersaMark and used Stamp n' Stuff jeweled gold embossing powder.  MFT fishtail dies were used for the banner.  I used DCWV gold glitter paper to mount both the butterfly and sentiment.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Vintage Stamping Challenge - Wings and things
Come and Get It - Things with wings
Stamping Sensations - Wings and things and a touch of vintage

Thanks for stopping by.
I'll be back with a DT Challenge card for Aud Sentiments tomorrow!!!

For the birthday boy

Oh joy!
A second post today!
I made a card for the challenge at MFT and I already I have a card to post tomorrow and the MFT deadline is noon.  So, for you, a bonus card!

The banner die is from MFT, as is the sentiment, which is stamped with Versafine Majestic Blue.  The set comes with the option of using boy or girl, so it is very versatile.  I don't make boy cards too often, but I dug in my stash and found this patriotic paper from the Authentic Collection Pride.  I think it worked beautifully.  Twine and button come from my stash.

I am entering the MFTWSC#137 challenge.  I am also entering:

Kitty Bee - birthday
Creatalicious - for the boys
One Crazy Stamper - birthday

Thanks for stopping by!

What's New???

Ahhhh, Monday.  But the temps are in the 80's (quite odd for this time of year) so no complaints here!

Today I have a card for the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
The sponsor this week is Deidre Mosher Digital Designs, who I believe used to be Shirley's 2 Girls, because I have some of her designs in clear stamps!  I have used one here.

The DP is Basic Grey Lime Rickey.  I stamped the image on white and on BG green, then fussy cut the dog and mounted him on the green with 3M foam tape.  He is colored with Copics and Micron .05 black.  I used a Lil' Inkers mini bow die for the ribbon attached to a thin strip of dp I used in lieu of ribbon.  A Memory Box label die was used for the sentiment.  The orange cs is from DCWV.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Jo's Craft Shack - anything goes
Whimsical Designs - Bingo (die cut, free, stamps)

I Miss Your Face

Hi ALL!!!
Margaret has this saying and I just love it.  I recently bought a set of stamps from Unity and this saying was in it so I was inspired to create a card.

I stamped the image with Versamark and used Desert Blossom from The World's Greatest Embossing Powder and cut it out with Nesties.  You can't see the sparkle very much, but trust me, it's there.  The sentiment is stamped with SU! Dusty Durango, cut out with a Nestie label die, and adorned with Swarovskis.  I used dp from Cosmic Cricket Material Girl and I used my corner rounder on the edges.  CS is also from SU!.  The sketch comes from Atlantic Hearts Challenge.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Cards Galore - bingo (sentiment, die cuts, embossing)
A Gem of a Challenge - use punches/dies
Pattie's Creations - embossing

Thanks for stopping by!

With sympathy

Hello everyone,
I am back again today.  Am feeling blue that Monday and work and school are all starting up.  I guess I need to enjoy my last day tomorrow.  Anyway, I found out on Friday that a colleague's mother passed away after a long hard battle with cancer.  So this card is for her--she has shown great strength and poise throughout this time...more than I could imagine doing if it was me.

The card I made is simple, but elegant (I think at least).  I used an SU mandala stamp and cut it up, layering it with foam tape.  All the SU punches worked great for this.  As you can see...quite a few Swarovski crystals to bring the card from drab to fab.  Nothing like a little bling.

With that being said, I will enter this card into the following challenges:
Details:
Stamps: SU
Punches: SU
Die Banner: MFT
Other: Swarovski crystals
Paper: Paper Studio

Would you indulge me in a little bit before I log off?  Below are a few creations by my older daughter Julia.  She hasn't been so much into card making lately so I was thrilled when she made not just one, but TWO creations, seen below.  The second is a mandala stamp from the now closed Outlines store.  I so miss their beautiful mandala creations and stamps.

WEll thanks for stopping by today.  You will get Kathy back for a few days before I make a return.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Margaret

Happy Birthday to you

Hello yet again readers,
I don't know what happened.  One day I am struggling to find a reason to make a card and now all of a sudden I have a bunch of cards I need to make!  Isn't that how it goes usually?

Well I have a bunch of birthdays coming up in September and October.  So I made a birthday card and I think I may give this one to my friend's daughter whose birthday is in October.  My cards get a special place in their house--hung up in the kids' rooms--so they need to be special. :)

I just love the Mimi line of stamps from Penny Black which is what I used here.  Will be entering the card into the following challenges:

LOTS of sparkle on this one!
Details:
Paper: Echo Park
Stamp: Penny Black (girl), Paper Trey (Hearts) and Stampendous (sentiment)
Die cuts: Spellbinders, MFT (Banners), SU (label), Memory Box (leaves), Family Treasures (old punch) (hearts)

So worth the wait...congratulations

Hi everyone!
I'm back again, saving Kathy some time to catch up on some cards.

Today's card is a continuation from yesterday's theme of welcoming my nephew to the world.  I couldn't stop myself since I was on the roll so I made a Congratulations card for my sister and brother in law.  I was inspired by MOJO MONDAY Sketch 306.

Now if only I could FINALLY finish the blanket...it's almost done!  Thanks for stopping by! Hugs! Margaret

Welcome baby...it's a boy!

After many long days, hello again everyone!  Kathy did such an outstanding job keeping up the blog during my hiatus--and she made such lovely cards.  I could tell she had some great inspiration mojo going on.

Well...BIG BIG NEWS!  Last Saturday, not only did my girls come back home after a long summer vacation, but my sister finally gave birth...to a boy!  I am an aunt! AND a godmother!  It was such a happy day...I can't wait to meet this little one unfortunately it won't be until January.  He is beautiful...and from what I hear such a wonderful calm sweet (and quite strong) baby.  He was already trying to lift his head as the nurses were trying to bathe him to everyone's amazement.    7 lbs 15 oz.  20 inches long.  Welcome to the world Peter Adrian.

So, this card that I am featuring today is, of course, a Welcome baby card.  The sketch I was inspired by was the Sketch and Stash sketch Challenge #119.  The paper from the stroller is nice and sparkly!  Inside it's stamped: Babies are such a nice way to start people, Welcome Baby

Til tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by!  Margaret

Wonderful Winter Wishes

Hi everyone!
I am back with yet another Christmas card.  Seems to be a recent theme of mine!

I used the sketch from Cardabilities, but unfortunately didn't make the link before it closed.  I really like the sketch!  The sentiment, from There She Goes, is stamped with Memento Rhubard Stalk on very old DP from HL Greetings of the Season, which is used throughout the card.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the label and attached Swarovskis to the punch outs.  A Sizzix embossing folder was used for the square behind the sentiment.  The ribbon die is from Cheery Lynn and the red ribbon is from my stash.

I am entering the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut - picture inspiration
Hobby House - Christmas
Christmas Card All Year Round - Make if fussy/fancy
Craftin' Boutique - Christmas

Waiting to hear if Geena Bea has agility class tonight.  We have had storms every day, especially in the late afternoon and evening.  It's graying up now.  Hopefully we will keep our internet service, but just in case, I'm posting early!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ring the Bells

More storms - rain like we have not seen during summertime in I can't remember how long.  We're not talking showers, folks, it has been pouring buckets.  Flash flooding and severe thunderstorm warnings from NOAA.  Don't get me wrong, we need rain.  It just would be nice if it was spread out a little and without all the drama!  At least we still have internet service today!

The card I am sharing today is a Christmas card I made last week.

I used a new stamp set I got while visiting Margaret in Colorado this summer.  It is from Inky Antics and I just love this sweet image.  I used Copics and Spicas to color it and cut it out with a square Nestie.  The I cut a coordinating square from pink cs using the Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Square die.  DP is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey.  The Inky Antics sentiment is stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and cut out with an SU! punch and popped up with 3M foam tape.  I also used an SU! punch for the cs oval.  The snowflakes used MFT dies and DCWV glitter paper.  The sketch comes from Christmas Challenge.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Winter WOnderland - cute Christmas
Hobby House - christmas
Christmas Card All Year Round - Make if fussy/fancy

Hi Peeps!
Thought I would make up for not posting yesterday!!!
I'm back with a birthday card using the MFT sketch #136.

I used the new sentiment from MFT that came with my order last week!!!  The vehicles are MFT dies from the You Move Me set and the arrow is yet another MFT die.  I did use nestie circles.  DP is Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride, which I thought was perfect for the "cruising" theme.

I am also entering the following challenges:

One Crazy Stamper - birthday
The Male Room - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by.
I will be back tomorrow with a
Christmas card.

We All Take Different Paths

Thank You WINDSTREAM!!!
We lost internet after our power went out yesterday with all the nasty storms.  However, moments ago, our internet was restored.  When I called this morning, I was told it would be turned on at 8:20am tomorrow.  Yes, 8:20!  Funny how they can be so exact, huh?  The whole mountain lost internet service, so I guess they decided to send someone out on the weekend.  That NEVER happens.  We always lose service on Fridays or Saturdays and have to wait until Monday for restoration.  I am tickled pink to be back online.  My eyes are tired of squinting while checking email on my iPhone!!!!

My card today is an inspirational one.

I used the sketch at Atlantic Hearts, but not checking local time, I am too late for the challenge :(.  That's okay, I enjoyed working with the sketch.  I used the Taylored Expressions Birch Tree cut plate for the background.  The sentiment from Stampendous is stamped with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Weathered Wood and cut out with a Tiddly Inks stitched die.  CS is from my scrap bin.  I used Memory Box bird dies as accents.

I am entering the following challenges:

Allsorts - stitching
That Craft Place - monochrome
Dream Valley - monochrome
The Paper SHelter - punches/dies

Out of commission Saturday possibly Sunday

Hello Everyone,
Margaret here.  I am so sorry, but we will not have a post today.  I just got finished with a grueling week of teaching my intensive course, and needed to work today too in the morning--and then go to Denver to pick up my girls.  In the meantime, Kathy had a big storm back in ARkansas which blew the power out til Monday.  Will try to post something tomorrow, but no promises since I will be out all day and home late again.  Will try though!  For sure, we will be back Monday.  Hope you all have a restful wonderful weekend! Hugs...Margaret

Got Snow?

Funny I should make a card titled "Got Snow?" when it is almost
100 degrees with 80 percent humidity!
But, I am working on my Christmas card stash so I don't end up with tons of cardsto create at the last minute (or deciding who gets store bought vs handmade, heaven forbid)!

I used the sketch from House of Cards and used the photo inspiration from There She Goes challenge for the colors.

The image is from There She Goes, and is colored with Copics and Spicas.  The dp is ancient Hobby Lobby and cs is Bazzill.  I used an MFT die and glitter paper for the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from A Muse.  Nesties and SU! punches were used for the cutting out the image and sentiment.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the interior of the card.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - color combo (#6 blue, white, silver, red)
Winter Wonderland - cute Christmas
ABC Christmas - P is for: pup

Play Ball

I am a huge SF Giants baseball fan.  Whenever I travel to cities with ballparks, I go to a game.  I have loved baseball since I was a little girl, listening to games on the radio, watching on "local" tv and going to the ballpark.
So my card today honors my love of the game.
Since she is dressed in stripes, I just couldn't put her in SF black and orange, so she looks more like a cross between a Red Sox and a Yankee!  Now what is more like summer than the "girls" of summer?! HA!  I love my little all star!

This is Tilda of Magnolia fame, a stamp that has been in my collection for a long time but remained uninked until now.  I colored her with Copics and added star buttons above the image.  I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Creative Belli - summer
City Crafter - polka dots

Thanks for stopping by!

My Other Ride is a Pole

Hi!
I'm here today with my contribution to the Aud Sentiments Design Team.
We were provided Sassy Study Designs digi images with the
challenge of using a sentiment about getting flirty.
How fun is that?

Well, I know it is not Halloween, but I couldn't resist using Sassy Witch.  I had the "My other ride is a pole" sentiment from MFT for a really long time and never had the right image with which to use it.  NOW I do!!!

I used the sketch from last week's PaperTake Weekly challenge.  Not good planning on my part because I don't get to enter the challenge, but the sketch was a good for my image.  My dp is from BoBunny and cs is DCWV.  I colored her with Copics and Spicas, added a Prima flourish, black Kaiser pearl and Michael's ribbon.  I used an MFT fishtail die for the sentiment.

I am entering the following challenges:

Digi Sketch Challenge - anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - Bingo (pearl, digi, ribbon)
Pattie's Creations - gems, ribbon, sentiment

Thanks for stopping by.  Check out the rest of the DT's creations at

Tickled Pink

I made this sweet baby card for my favorite little girl, Olivia.
I had some extra cotton yarn left over from another project and decided to crochet her a little yellow blankie for her car seat.  Small (16x22) and easy to tote along with a baby and all her stuff!  I actually met her and her mom at Starbucks on Saturday after I took Sadie to the vet.  It was a beautiful afternoon and all 4 of us enjoyed our visit and I think Olivia liked her new blankie, I know her mom did!

So here is the card I made for her and the matching envelope I created using the WeR Memory Keeper punch board.

I used the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.  DP is DCWV.  The onesie is cut out with a Taylored Expressions die and I used a La La Land ribbon die, with the sentiment from Pink Persimmon stamped with PTI Pure Poppy.  A couple of pearls were added to the ribbon tails for a little girly bling.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe's - pink and white
Sentimental Sundays - Child's Play

Thanks for stopping by.
I will be back tomorrow with my DT project for Aud Sentiments.

The Best Things In Life

Hi Everyone!
Another scorcher here in Arkansas!  Heat index of 106 degrees at 6:53 pm.
You would think we live in a desert rather than just outside
a National Forest on a lake!!!
It is supposed to be worse tomorrow, which means no
agility class for Geena Bea.  That is just too hot and humid for putting us through our paces on the agility course!

I've got a card to share that is for the challenge at MFT.

I used an MFT stamp and MFT dies on this project.  CS is from SU! and DP is  Authentique Remembrance.  I added several rhinestones for bling.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
613 Avenue Create - use a sentiment

Thanks for stopping by!
I'll be back again tomorrow since Margaret
is teaching this week.
