Embrace your inner witch

Monday is officially almost over--which means we're sliding down the week with the countdown to Friday! :)

Today's card is one I made for my older daughter Julia.  Each year, my girls get/[demand] a card for all the major holidays.  Halloween is Julia's favorite holiday so our house is already decorated.  Therefore I already gave her the card.

I used the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday #106.  The image is from the now-closed Outlines store. (I think they still do sell their stamps, but only at their shows which unfortunately are all in the Northeast).  I've also seen some of their stamps now being sold by Hampton Arts.  This particular image is cut out.  Outlines stamps always had quite a few embellishments as part of the stamp but I thought cutting this hat out made it stand out more.  I also embossed it with Sparkly Black embossing powder.  I think it might be Ranger (I can't remember anymore).  I wanted to place some Swarovski's on the hat but I am running low on my stash.  Michael's and Hobby Lobby no longer carry them.  I know there are some great websites out there that sell them...but if you have a favorite, let me know!  They are pricey, so I save them only for the special people in my life who I know will not throw the cards away (like Kathy and my children). :)

Well today, you are getting a hat.  Tomorrow you will be getting boots..with the card I made for my younger daughter Claudia (she's all about the shoes). :)  Thanks for stopping by!  Will see you tomorrow...

Warm Wishes to You

Wow, did you see Margaret's post from yesterday???
It is a stunner!!!  Nothing as exciting or glittery here today.  I do need to get into Halloween.  Perhaps later this week.

I used a sketch from Papertake Weekly.  This is sketch #80, as they are having a sketch free for all this time around.

I used Basic Grey Cappella, stash ribbon, Swarovski crystals and DCWV cs.  The Hero Arts image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Robin's Fetish - nature
Jo's Scrap Shack - Women's Friendship Day
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

I've got a busy busy week coming up, so I am thrilled that Margaret will be posting on Monday and Tuesday.  I really need to get some cards made ahead of time since I am going out-of-town on the 11th, but that doesn't happen too often these days.  I thank you for stopping by.

I've got my eye on you

Hi everyone!
It was such a gloriously sunny day today (a nice change from all that rain)--but very very cold.  While I was burning up the rubber in my stamp room, the heater was burning up the gas keeping me nice and toasty.  But I LOVE it...I can't wait until we start getting snow.  When it's cooler like this, I feel like I have boundless energy, I sleep better and I can just accomplish the world.

So I made THREE Halloween cards today! WOW...the only reason I stopped was because my back was starting to hurt (and well, I was down there for about 5 hours and I was getting dizzy from lack of food!)  I've pretty much almost decimated my Doodlebug Halloween paper pad--I've loved this paper so much!  I was tempted to get another pad yesterday at the store but then I figured, next year they will have something even better.  Best of all, I'm so jazzed to be using my abundant Halloween stash.

The card I'm posting today is a Northwoods stamp I got last year.  I will be honest in that I was a bit daunted about using it because it is so detailed.  But I challenged myself.  Northwoods stamps always look so nice once they're done up.  Then I had this idea to pop it out and make the crystal ball look shiny.

I found the perfect sketch..Pals Paper Arts (PPA173) to inspire me.  ALthough my image is just a tad too big for the sketch, I think it still works.  I cut out the crystal ball, and laquered it (see closeup) and then cut out the hand holding it.  I put some liquid pearly on the warts to make them pop up.  And of course it wouldn't be a Margaret card if it wasn't slathered with stickles (on her nails) and swirls and ring.  I must say, this took a really long time to make, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  Inside I stamped a  Northwoods sentiment "I've got my eye on you".  So cute!  I was going to give it to my daughter Julia for her Halloween card this year, but decided to send it to a little girl who is turning 10 soon...she will think it's really spooky and will get a total kick out of it.

Thanks for stopping by today--you will Kathy tomorrow and then I'll post my other two cards on Monday and Tuesday.  More Halloweenie stuff.  :)  Have a great day tomorrow.  Margaret

Have a Little Fun

Okay, Peeps, I figured it out.
I bought an image in order to participate in the From The Heart monthly challenge.  It's a deal where once you get started, if you play every month, you get the monthly stamp image.  I decided that I really like the images and I want to participate.  The problem was I figured I would "remember" where the stamp came from and I didn't write it down.  Every do something silly like that?  Depend on that "great" memory to be there when you needed it?  Needless to say, mine failed me.  But we are back on track now.

Isn't this just the sweetest little image and how much more Fall could this be?  I used Teresa Collins Spring Fling dp and DCWV cs.  The sentiment is from A Muse, cut out with a Sizzix die and I used nesties for the image, colored with Copics.  I added several KaiserCraft rhinestones for a little bling.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Dream Valley - Autumn
MarkerPop - Fall
Hanna & Friends - Best Friends
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your patience!

I actually had a card to post that I made this week, but I can't find the deets, like where I got the image (it's a digi).  So I will search my computer and get back to you tomorrow.  Just too tired tonight!

Hey Smarty Pants

Awww, Wednesday! So glad it is here!  Is anyone out there playing Candy Crush Saga???  Oh, I am so addicted.  I made it to Level 170 today and I thought I would have to give up on 169, but finally figured it out.  I almost caught up with Margaret, but she has pulled ahead again.  Someday....

I had fun making the card for tonight.  It's a darling image but I did have a problem finding the perfect sentiment in my stash for it.  Next time I think I will just print my own.

This is an adorable Mo Manning digi image.  I colored her with Copics and Spicas.  The template comes from Sketch Saturday.  The sentiment is from A Muse, ribbon is from stash, and the dp and button are Basic Grey.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Inky Chicks - Pretty in Pink
Card Mania - use at least 1 button
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by!

Nurses are the Heart of healthcare

I managed to get home from agility class tonight without killing anything or being affected by a wreck.  I hit a deer last week and got caught in a logging truck wreck with the load all over the road and a two car wreck each of the last two weeks.  I've also killed a rabbit and an opossom  the week before that.  Granted, I do live in the country and was traveling on 2-lane highways, but enough is enough!

I have a card for the challenge at Deconstructing Jen.

One of the nurses in our Medical Home Program is moving to the northern part of the state where her husband is pastor of a church and she has found work at the local hospital.  Her co-workers and her clinic families will miss her dearly and wish her luck as she starts over in a new town, new church and new job.  I made this card for her going away celebration.
The nurse, which looks a lot like her, is from There She Goes, colored with Copics and paper-pieced with MME Happy Day.  I used PTI ribbon and a strip of rhinestones to accent the "heart" of the sentiment.  CS is DCWV.
She really loved her card.

I am entering the following challenges:

Creative Crafts - use ribbon
Inky Chicks - Pretty in Pink
LEJ Designs - Lots of layers
Craft-Deebowz - handmade ribbon
Timbro Scrap Mania - start again

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello everyone,
I didn't do my dutiful post on Sunday because Kathy beat me to it. :)  So here is my card for today.  Following along the Halloween theme...I'll probably give this one to a child.  I followed the sketch for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #22.  I really love the geometric-type sketches and the stamp set I used lent itself perfectly for it.  It's a REALLY old Stampin Up set and I think I used it only once before so it felt really good to be able to use it today.  I'm feeling nostalgic as it reminds me of the early days of when I first got into stamping.  Oh correction...when Kathy dragged me kicking and screaming to a stamping party...which of course, got me hooked immediately.  :)

Well sorry this one is short.  I'm beat...and have a really long day tomorrow.  I hope your week has gotten off to a good start...Thanks for stopping by!  Margaret

My Opinion

I don't think we hit 80 degrees was glorious outside.  Fall is near, as the leaves are starting to change and drop from the trees.
Autumn is my favorite season, by far, while summer is my least favorite, other than traffic is much lighter (no school) so my drive to work is easier.  Needless to say, I am more than ready to be rid of hot, humid days!

The card I am sharing today is for a co-worker.  I asked her on Thursday if she wanted the card on her birthday or on the day of her celebration (we are taking her to lunch).  She smiled and said, "As soon as it is ready.  It's the favorite part of my birthday."  That really warmed my heart.  She told me all the cards I have made her are on display in her house.  Wow!  I told her I bought a stamp to use for her card months ago.  When I saw it, it had her name all over it.  Here it is:

The image is entitled "Diva" and was created by Mo Manning for Stamping Bella.  While not a new image, I saw it on a blog and just had to have it for this purpose.  My friend always dresses and accessorizes so well.  The sentiment, though not birthday-like, fits her to a T.  DP is KaiserCraft Gypsy Sisters while cs is Michaels and SU.  I colored the image with COpics and Spicas, adding Smooch Pearlized Top Coat to her boa.  The doily and butterfly are Cheery Lynn dies, while the sentiment is cut out with an MFT die.  I added a teal Swarovski to the butterfly, to pick up on the color of the dress and the teal in the background paper.  I used a sketch created by Melissa on the Filipino scrapbookers challenge.

Here's a shot of the interior, the birthday part of the card!!!

I am also entering the following challenges:

A Creative Romance - dies/punches
Cut It Up - going in circles
Totally Papercrafts - Happy Birthday Baby!
Parade Your Crafts - It's All About Birthdays

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back on Monday.

You say I'm witchy like it's a bad thing!

Hello everyone!
It's the weekend and I'm back!  Kathy has just been wowing me every day with her beautiful creations, but my favorite, of course, is the one I will be gifted with (from yesterday). :)

I have been really in the Halloween mood lately.  I have quite a few Halloween stamps, but I never use them because I never have time!  SO I'm changing that this year.  Today's card is quite unique.  I made it for...ME!  I have never done that before, but I wanted to add some character to my door at work. :)  What do you think?  Have you ever gifted yourself with a card made by your own hands?  Try it...

I was inspired by the Sweet Sketch #224--I just love their sketches!  If you get a chance to go to their site, you'll get to see some photos from our Colorado disaster posted by the guest hostess.  It's been an interesting year for Colorado between the fires, the drought and now the flooding.

Anyway...I hope you enjoy today's card and get inspired for your own Halloween creations. (I just love this entire pad of Doodlebug paper--I'm using it up so fast I actually think I may go out and buy another one!)  Will be back tomorrow--thanks for stopping by.  Margaret

I'm really missing Margaret right now.  We need some face time, and not the Apple iPhone kind!
So tonight I have a card to celebrate our friendship.

I used the sketch at Digi Sketch Challenge.  The heart image is from Lockhart Stamp Company, colored with Copics and Spicas.  The window, also colored with Copics, is an Art Impressions stamp, and I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the center where the glass would be.  I added foam tape to the back side and mounted the heart image so it would give it some depth.  I fussy cut the awning, also attaching it with foam tape.  The dp is Basic Grey Lemonade and cs is from my stash, as is the strip of ribbon.  I used EK punches for the sentiment, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, produced by JustRite.  I added 3 Swarovskis beneath it for a little added emphasis on the word "special".  Makes me want to jump in the car and run to a bakery for a latte and a cookie or cupcake, how about you?

I love how Margaret shows detail photos, so here's my attempt at it.  The main photo just doesn't show the triple depth of the window, so I will try to show it here:

I am also entering the following challenges:

A Creative Romance - dies or punches
Cut it Up - circles, must use a die cut
GraphIt Markers - color an accessory

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Get Together

Happy Thursday! It's almost the weekend and I can't wait.
I am going shopping! Leaving the pups and hubby at home and off to town I go.
By town, I mean 45 miles!  But that's okay.  I need to get off this mountain!

Tonight's card turned out better than I thought it would when I was in the process of putting it together.

I used Queen Bee dp from Pink Paisley.  The couch was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and die cut, while the pillows and picture were paper pieced and fussy cut.  I used a Sizzix scallop border die.  CS is from Michaels and stamps are PTI.  The sketch is from Sunday Stamps.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Use it Tuesday - friendship (hoarded item - dp)
Sweet Stamps - paper piecing

You Color My World

Hi!  Yea!  We got rain today with more forecast for Friday.  Hopefully we will lose our burn ban this weekend!  It's been 5 weeks since we had rain.  What a relief!  Seems like it's feast or famine.  Margaret has had torrential rains while we have been in a horrible drought!  Funny what 1000 miles can do...

Tonight I have my card for the DT at Aud Sentiments.  The image is from Stamp Fairy and I used a sketch from Chocolate, Coffee and Cards but that challenge has already closed.

DP is from the KaiserCraft Devonshire Collection and the green cs is DCWV.  Ribbon is from Michaels and rhinestone strip is from HL.  The sentiment is from MFT.  Sure glad I live in a forest and don't have to rake leaves anymore!

I am entering the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - Autumn colors
Craft Your Passion - Autumn/fall colors
Lexi's Creations - Fall colors

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT created at Aud Sentiments!

Friend and Companion

A few days ago, one of our agility classmates lost one of her dogs to kidney failure, so I have made a card to bring to her tonight at class.  This hits home for me because I have 2 senior dogs and I know their time could be up at any moment, although both are in good health.  Our 4-legged friends just don't live long enough, in my perspective.

This is for Jamie, a Scottie:

I found this angel scottie from The Cat's Pajamas in my stash.  How fitting is that?  The sentiment is from Cloud 9, with all stamping done with Versafine Onyx Black, my staple.  I used nesties to cut them out.  DP is ancient Memory Makers from a dog kit I bought at Hobby Lobby for scrapbooking years ago and never even opened the package.  I don't scrapbook anymore once I discovered stamping!!!  I added a strip of stash robbon to cover where the red cs meets the dp.  Blue cs is from Michaels, red is MM.

On the inside I used a Martha Stewart border pawprint punch and added a sentiment from PTI.

I used the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Creative Fingers - sentiment
WordArt Wednesday - anything goes/inspirational

I hope all your pets are doing well.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hello My Pretty

No rain here, wish Margaret could send some our way!
We are in a burn ban.  Extremely dry and very hot again! Ugh!

I missed work today because of illness and didn't feel like working in my room either.  But I am feeling a little better this evening after getting my prescription drugs on board.  So here's my post for the day...

The sketch comes from the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
This is a Pure Innocence image, colored with Copics and paper pieced with dp from Michaels and DCWV.  I used white glitter paper for the hat band, socks and buckles.  I colored orange stripes on the socks, so they are really glittery in person.  The hat, dress and shoes are paper pieced with dp.  I added Swarovskis to the corners and punch out and a rhinestone strip under the sentiment, cut out with a Memory Box die.  Isn't she adorable!!!

I am also entering the following challenges:

Card A Day - kiddie card
Graph It Markers - halloween colors
Alphabet Challenge - P is for paper piecing

Thanks for stopping by!!!
Oh, by the way, this is the image I "lost" the other day.  I found it in my punch drawer, standing straight up and down, with the white side showing.  Of course, I had looked in there half a dozen times and didn't see it!!!

Sweet friend, have you inked your/our stamps today?

Hello everyone!
I'm back...and still soggy from the biblical rains going on around here without a seeming end....

Today's card is for my sweet friend and blogmate Kathy.  Been missing her something fierce lately....The sentiment seems a little cut off, but not completely inappropriate.  It says, "Have you inked your stamps today?" but with it cut off it seems to say, "Have you inked our stamps today?"  Well...doesn't exactly change the meaning since Kathy and I seem to have many of the same stamps.  LOL

The card was inspired by the Sunday Sketch and Stamp: Challenge #174.

Kathy will be getting this card soon to brighten her day.  It sure brightened mine today making it.  Have you made a card lately for your sweet friend?  If!  Just because...the best kind of card to get.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!  Margaret

Heartfelt thanks, SSS228

Hi everyone,
Margaret here.  Colorado has been having a wet wet week.  It's craziness to have so much rain in the high desert!  So much damage to businesses, roads, homes.  It's worse in Denver and Boulder but the Springs is soaked too, and the folks living on the mountain haven't had an easy time of it either.  I am officially "done" with all this rain that doesn't seem to end.

I was up to my same old tricks with today's card using more mandala type themes.  I've been inspired by the Sweet Stop Sketch 228.  I'm having  a bunch of thank you's to make right now for the students who are volunteering their time to help us with my study so this is one of the ones I made. I hope it inspires you...the sketch is great!  Feeds my need for symmetry. :)

Thanks for stopping by...I will be posting again tomorrow!  Margaret

Two Ways to Live

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday the 13th!!!
I am in a much better mood today, even though my image from yesterday still hasn't appeared.  It's Friday and I am ready for the weekend.
Lots of football and baseball, yea!!!

Tonight I have a sentiment card to share.

I just love this dp from Authentique Essentials.  The image is from Paula Best and is stamped with Versacolor Pinecone.  I used Spellbinders dies and DCWV cs.  I sprinkled Swarovskis throughout the card.  The sketch comes from Cardabilities #82.

I am also entering the following challenges:

That's what I am tonight.
I stamped, I stamped again.  I paper-pieced and fussy cut.  I used several different dps and glitter papers.  I colored with my Copics.  I layered and layered my card base and mounted my image on cs.  I die cut and die cut and die cut.  After putting all the base pieces together, I went to add my main Pure Innocence image for the MFT challenge, and guess what?  I couldn't find it.
Now, I never left the room, so it IS here somewhere.   My room isn't that messy, but I spent an hour looking for the image.  I looked in drawers, on the floor, cleaned my desk, checked my paper files/drawers, the trash can.  You name it, I looked.  I still can't find it.  So I have made another card to post tonight and hopefully the image will appear in the next few days...

So tonight I am joining the challenge at CAS - Colours and Sketches.  I don't think I have played there before, so it is nice to find a sketch there and join in.

This is a great quote from John Lennon put into a stamp by Paula Best.
I used KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue dp and DCWV cs.  Ribbon is from SU! and I added Swarovskis to the image which is stamped with Versafine Imperial Purple.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday - anything goes, inspirational saying
Loves Rubber Stamps - sentiment on the front
Just Inspirational - must use flowers (image ok)

Thanks for stopping by.
Wish me luck in locating my lost PI girl!

Muchas Gracias

Good evening everyone!
I have had a fun time in my art room tonight, even though I managed to do a little organizing - not my favorite thing to do, I'd rather play.

The card I am sharing tonight features a cute little chihuahua.

I used an Inkadinkado stamp set and colored the images with Copics.  I fussy cut the cactus and used nesties for the pup.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and cut out with a die from La La Land.  The banner is cut out with MFT dies.  DP is WeR Memory Keepers Fiesta and it is a perfect match for this stamp, don't you think?!!!  CS is from PTI.  This sketch comes from The Sweet Stop, one of my regular challenge stops!

I am also entering the following  challenges:

Clear It Out - Thank you + something you've been hanging on to {dp}
Brown Sugar - animals

Thanks for stopping by on this hump day!

Merry Little Christmas

I'm running's already after midnight, but this is my Tuesday post.
Had agility class with Geena Bea tonight, and just like last week, we ran into an accident on the way home.  Out in the country, 2 lane highway, and the exact same first responder stopping traffic.  He came up to my car and started to tell me what was happening, and started laughing and said, "You again?"  I mean, do you really expect to run into the same person on a deserted rural two-lane after 10pm on a weeknight?  Small world.  We still had about 15 miles to go before  we would be home!

Okay, so now you know why I am late.  On to the card.  I made a Christmas card tonight using the sketch at Sketch Saturday.

I used an MFT image, stamped with Versafine Olympia Green.  I added a diecut bow (Impression Obsession) and fishtail (MFT).  The flourish is from Michaels.  I played around with Swarovskis, but couldn't get the look I wanted.  The dp is old, old Memory Box.  Do they even produce paper anymore?  I used Canson gold specialy paper to mat everything.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by.  Time to dry my hair and head to bed!

Sending Hogs - Whoo Pig Sooie!

Yes, I said HOGS!
If you know anything about Arkansas, it should be that the mascot of our big University is the Razorbacks, or Hogs.  When Lou Holtz was our coach, he wore a hog hat on The Tonight Show.  Former President Clinton is a huge Razorback fan and regularly "calls" the hogs.  No other university has the Razorbacks for it's mascot.  It is unique to Arkansas.  We even have a razorback attending the game.  His name is Tusk and he resides with a family who cares for him when he isn't on the sidelines.  Margaret, who resided here for 8 years, is not a sports fan, but even she knows about the Razorbacks!  This state goes nuts over its Razorbacks!!!  Whoo Pig Sooie!!!

I used this darling Pure Innocence image from MFT and colored her with Copics.  I made her little piggy bank the razorback and highlighted it with red Spica.  She is dressed in red and white, ready for the game to root for her school.  I put a real penny as an accent to go along with the coin in her hand.  I used MFT arrow dies to point to this little darlin'.  I also used an MFT die for the sentiment.  DP is circa 2006 from SU! and cs is PTI Poppy.

I used the sketch from MFTWSC140.  I am also entering the following challenges:

2 Sisters - Back to School
Milk Coffee Challenge - Back to school
Lori Designs - Back to school

Thanks for stopping by!  The Razorbacks won their game at War Memorial Stadium Saturday evening 31-21 against Samford.  Go Hogs!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Hello Everyone!
I am here today and I finally made my card that I will be sending to Kathy.  This is going to be her Halloween card and you will probably have a recollection of this image and sentiment.  SO...I am totally ripping off Kathy's idea (hence the title of the blog post)...but taking it one step farther to make it NOT so shocking.  SO, if you're shocked by the sentiment, don't be.  Just keep scrolling down and you'll see what is meant.  ;)  Actually I was hoping the card could Pop up when she opened it, but the image was too flimsy for that so I needed to tape it to the card inside.  Oh well...maybe eventually I will figure it out.

Anyway, the sentiment is from an old MFT stamp set (Tongue in Cheek) but they no longer make it so I printed it on my computer and put it in the MFT bubble die cut.  The sketch I used was inspired by the Sweet Stop SSS227 (Sept 7) Challenge.  "Sassy Witch" is a digi by Sassy Studio Designs.  I cut her out and popped her up with foam tape and stickled her all over, including her hair in different colors.  (Kathy did a much better job on her hair when she did this image so I needed to fix mine...)  By the way, I used the brand new Doodlebug Halloween is ADORABLE..I think the best paper I've ever had for Halloween.

In addition to Sweet Stop, I am also entering this card into the Aud Sentiment Challenge.

I hope you enjoyed this card and it gave you a laugh rather than a heart attack...wish me luck this will be another doozy.  Can't wait to be back...hopefully sooner than before the weekend starts.  Thanks for stopping by...Margaret

On Your Special Day

Just a little lagniappe for you today.
Margaret and I are both posting!!!

I made this card a couple of days ago and the sketch challenge ends tonight so here it is.

I used Canson specialty papers in gold and white.  They are quite shimmery in person.  I embossed the white band with a Sizzix folder.  The stamps are from JustRite and I used Encore Metallic Gold ink.  A Spellbinders die was used to cut out the design and an EK punch for the sentiment, which is popped up on foam tape.  The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

I used the sketch at Tuesday Morning.  It has an elegant look to it.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Stamp-n-doodle - wedding
Twist of Faith - anniversary
Seemacrafts - monochrome

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Too sweet

Hello everyone,
I was in such 7th heaven to be in the stamp room again!  This has been a long week and will continue being one into the next.  I am working all weekend so this was a nice diversion.  Keeps me sane though gets me unmotivated from getting my work done. I don't know about you but I could stamp all day all night and have more energy by the end than when I started.  For some people, they get energized from exercise.  For me, I get energized from creating.

My card today was pretty fun to make.  I used a stamp that I had never used before!  I had a meeting with my boss this week and she gave me her very famous (and high delicious) homemade jam.  This was so nice of her...she does this for all of us every Christmas and it truly is more delicious than anything you buy in the store.  Such a treat to get it before Christmas!

So I thought this was perfect for a thank you.  I posted some closeups.  I cut the jam out separately and propped it up with foam tape, tying a little twine around the top.  I felt the lacy ribbon gave this a nice touch.

I used the sketch from a very old sketch from Sketchbook Saturday (#11) and am entering the card into the Clearly iStamp ("Thank you") Challenge #6.

I hope you enjoyed today's creation--it was a bit different than normal. :)  Thanks for stopping by and I will "see" you tomorrow!  Margaret

Happy Winter

Ahhhh, Friday!
I am so glad to have this week behind me.  I am looking forward to spending some time in my art room, both creating and cleaning.  Yes, I said
cleaning.  A necessary evil, I'm afraid.
I am not the neatest of crafters, though I do tend to clean my stamps and put away my tools each night.  That still leaves scraps at my cutting table, desk and diecut table, not to mention the basket I keep by my desk for "returning" stamps to their rightful places.  That's only used for the ones that aren't directly behind me.  I can put those up when I finish with them (aren't you proud of me?)!  Then there's all that paper I pull out that just doesn't quite work.  Anyway, I am messy.  My DH calls me a "clutterer".  He's right.  Yes, that DH is right, unfortunately, more often than not!

So on to tonight's card.  This one was made because of an incident at our home this week.  One night, while I was crafting and my husband was sleeping, little Sammie started barking like crazy.  Now, he is our most quiet dog and he was in bed with my husband.  Of course, the other 3 had to join in on the barking, though they knew not why they were doing so, except that Sammie (Samuel L. Schnauzer is his official name because he needed a big name to go with his very small stature - 10 lbs) had sounded the alarm.  So by now, everyone is at the front door.  Well, we live in the country on 6 acres, far off from any roads, and it was about midnight.  So who could this be???
Well my friends, it was a fox at our front door.  Yes, I said a fox!
Obviously, he didn't hang around long when all the barking ensued, but it is in his honor that I made this card.

I used the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches.  My cute little fox comes from Taylored Expressions and is colored with Copics..  The dp is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey and green cs is DCWV.   The polka dotted cs is from Bo Bunny (and this is my last scrap of it, wish I had more!). I used an MFT border die and SU! punches for the sentiment and added rhinestones for bling.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Brown Sugar - animals
Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - Winter animals
Simon Says Stamp - Animal antics

Sorry for chatting so much today, I need to get my 10K words in everyday and I haven't been on the phone...

I'm back with a happy little card tonight.
Margaret gave me a QUICK call at work today because she needed to hear my voice, and that put a SMILE on my face.  Thus....

It's awful when your best friend lives 1000 miles away, but fortunately technology makes it much more tolerable.  Especially since there's no long distance charges, HA!

My card today uses Lori Boyd's Camera Cate.  She is colored with Copics and Spicas.  I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp, however I flipped it to accomodate the text cloud.  I incorporated dies from Impression Obsession (fence) and MFT (camera), while fussy cutting the text cloud sentiment (There She Goes) and popping it up with foam tape.  DP is from MME Tangerine.  I popped a rhinestone in the die cut camera to give the lens some dimension.  The ribbon comes from my scrap drawer.

I am also entering the following challenges:

DRS Designs - It's bright in here
Stampotique - Lots of Layers SDC#115
Oozak - anything goes/dies/punches

Thanks for stopping by!

Fairy Happy Birthday

Hi!  It's hump day!  How quickly it came with Monday being a holiday.  Yea!!!
I'm here with a posting for the Aud Sentiments Design Team.

This is Prairie Fairy digital image.  I colored Rosie with Copics and added Art Institute glitter to her wings and made a glittery cloud for her to sit on.  I tied a scrap of SU! ribbon to the top of the tag, which I cut out using a Sizzix die.

I am entering the following challenges:

Flutterby Wednesdays - butterfly/fairy open challenge
Creative Card Crew - Things with wings

Please stop by and visit Aud Sentiments and see what
all the DT has created for you!

I'll be back tomorrow with another creation to share!
Hope it is cooler than mid-90s where you are!

Thanks for stopping by!

Star Pumpkin

Hello everyone,
I'm back with another fall card featuring pumpkins.  This one is for my father.  He just spent over a week with me, helping me out. So it's a small thank you...

I was inspired by the Sweet STop Sketch Challenge SSS226--but I sort of messed it up because my circle is a bit too large.  Don't you hate when you realize these things once you've put it all together?  Nevertheless, I was excited to use my Impression Obsession Pumpkins...I have so many Halloween stamps, including pumpkins, and then time flies and I never get a chance to use them.  I intend to change that this year!  And if you remember from yesterday, this is the same SHEET of design paper that I used on both cards.  That should be a challenge--make two cards from 1 6x6 sheet of patterned paper. LOL.  I'm frugal when it comes to paper...staring at it is much more fun. LOL

Thanks for stopping by today...and one of us will "see" you tomorrow!  It's almost Hump Day! YEAH!  Margaret

The best little pumpkin in the patch

Hello everyone and Happy Labor Day!
It's hard to believe with it being September, fall is on its way (Though judging from the temps outside, I'm not convinced yet!)

Today I managed to get two cards done using the same piece of 6x6 paper for both!  How's that for a challenge! LOL.

I will be posting one of the cards today.  This is for a student who did a very generous volunteer activity at the last minute for me by preparing an hour long class for our freshman seminar--this student is just awesome...always volunteering time for everything that comes up so he deserved something special because this was a "biggie".  The theme is perfect too because he contributes alot of his time to our local farm and farmer's market.  This is one awesome young man--I would feel better about the future of this planet with more good seeds like him.  No pun intended.  :)

I used the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday #104.  The stamp is Northwoods and yes...I was intimidated coloring it!  The sentiment is from Great Impressions.  Our scrapbook/stamp store recently stopped carrying this line of stamps and I am so sad because they really had some cute stamps and sentiments. :(  Wished I would have taken advantage of it more than I had.

Well I hope you enjoyed this card today.  I'm rather sad that work is starting up strong.  1 week down, 15 more to go before the holidays.  I hope it's a good semester.  Thank you for stopping by!  I'm going to be thinking up of a great card for Kathy who has held down this fort like a true champion while I was missing in action.   Margaret
