Sending Hogs - Whoo Pig Sooie!

Yes, I said HOGS!
If you know anything about Arkansas, it should be that the mascot of our big University is the Razorbacks, or Hogs.  When Lou Holtz was our coach, he wore a hog hat on The Tonight Show.  Former President Clinton is a huge Razorback fan and regularly "calls" the hogs.  No other university has the Razorbacks for it's mascot.  It is unique to Arkansas.  We even have a razorback attending the game.  His name is Tusk and he resides with a family who cares for him when he isn't on the sidelines.  Margaret, who resided here for 8 years, is not a sports fan, but even she knows about the Razorbacks!  This state goes nuts over its Razorbacks!!!  Whoo Pig Sooie!!!

I used this darling Pure Innocence image from MFT and colored her with Copics.  I made her little piggy bank the razorback and highlighted it with red Spica.  She is dressed in red and white, ready for the game to root for her school.  I put a real penny as an accent to go along with the coin in her hand.  I used MFT arrow dies to point to this little darlin'.  I also used an MFT die for the sentiment.  DP is circa 2006 from SU! and cs is PTI Poppy.

I used the sketch from MFTWSC140.  I am also entering the following challenges:

2 Sisters - Back to School
Milk Coffee Challenge - Back to school
Lori Designs - Back to school

Thanks for stopping by!  The Razorbacks won their game at War Memorial Stadium Saturday evening 31-21 against Samford.  Go Hogs!

  1. You are so clever with all your little touches. The first thing I noticed when I saw this card was the piggie bank...and it reminded me of our talk in Northern Arkansas about Food Deserts (remember the empty piggy bank??). What fun memories. The second thing I noticed was the girl's outfit. I had one like that when I was 5--and it reminded me of the photo I took with my father when I was wearing it--when he was so young. Practically a kid himself (just about 30)...and then when I logged in to post comments today I noticed the penny. THAT was perfect. You are so ingenious. This is a great card...and it brought up so many memories. Almost makes me cry...
