Hi everyone,
When I logged in yesterday to view Kathy's card, I had this sense of reverence and anticipation. LOL! You have to understand, she roped me into this stamping business and I still remember the day I went to my very first stamping class. I had just flown in from a long trip and I had absolutely NO interest (I was a scrapbooker for heaven's sakes!)--but I went along anyway. We had Chinese food for dinner..and then we went (to a Stampin Up party)...and then the rest was history. Hooked---line and sinker! Never in our dreams did we ever think we would ever have our own blog, MUCH LESS enter challenges, and MUCH LESS be on a design team. I remember the first set of cards we made for a fundraiser--we were so proud of them but looking back now, I'm so embarrased! haha SO, that being Kathy's first post as a DT member--was a huge landmark in our history. :)
Well, on another note... my package is off to the girls and now I need to get started on my next cards. They'll be going to the beach soon so I've been looking for some beachy stamps since I didn't have any in my stash. How lucky to find that Stampin Bella just put out a beach girl...and so did Unity!
Today's card features the Stampin Bella card. Originally I was going to send this one to my older daughter Julia, but once I started creating it, I thought to myself, "Who am I kidding? This one's all Claudia": The large orange hat, the big ol' sunglasses, the purse...and did I mention the ORANGE? And the sentiment, which goes with the stamp, is SOOO Claudia. Wish I was more like that girl--she manages to enjoy life as much as possible and still do a fine job at school and never stress out about it.
Anyway, this design was inspired by the
Sweet Sketch Challenge: SSW214 I love the paper I found in my stash by My Mind's Eye. It looks a little like mandalas and sunshine. I'm starting to think there's a pattern here. I never look at what brand of paper I get...if I like it, I get it. Then after going through my stash today I found that most of my paper is either MME, Doodlebug, Theresa Collins, or Simple Stories. How's that for a pattern...
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the sketch and take a little heed from the wise sentiment before summer turns to fall. Thanks for stopping by! Next card: Unity Beach Girl... Margaret
PS. I added a closeup--no good card goes unstickled which I put on the stripes of the bag and bathing suit! ;)
