Gardening thank you

Hi everyone!  I did an unusual thing...I stayed up to do a card for a guest speaker that I've had in my class today.  I teach courses in nutrition and our speaker today came and had planned this FABULOUS presentation for our students about gardening.  So our class got very dirty with worms, dirt, composting...it was amazing.  And this amazing man brought tubs among tubs among tubs of manure, worms, seeds, everything you can think of to demonstrate how to garden well.  SO, I figured he would appreciate something a little handmade. :)  He was truly touched by this card so I am glad I did it!  He said he will frame it...it's moments like this that makes that extra special effort so worthwhile.  I used a lot of paper in this card...and Kathy can appreciate this...I am completely stingy with paper.  I just want to hoard it and look at it but not use it because I may need it for that extra special occasion...so this was a difficult moment for me to be cutting into all that beautiful patterned paper, but now I know I did the right thing. LOL  Thanks for obliging me in my mad paper obsession.

So today's card is a Magnolia card...as you can see it's a gardening theme.  The Kind Thanks sentiment is Stampin Up cut out on a Nestabilities die. The oval and rectangular frames are all Nestabilities as well.  The strawberry, Edwin and Tilda are all Magnolias...older versions.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch with black stickles in the middle.  I think the paper is Pebbles.  Inside the card the punched side is also Martha stewart and the sentiment is just printed off the printer.  It says, "Gardening is the art that uses flowers and plants as paint, and the soil and sky as canvas - working with nature provides the technique."  It is a quote by Elizabeth Murray.  I hope you enjoyed the card!  Thanks for stopping by. - Margaret

Hi there, it's Margaret again.  Today I'm posting a card that's for Kathy.  Only 80 something days before we see each other again!  I made this card a couple of weeks ago ... if only I can get myself to mail it! LOL The two girls (Magnolia stamp) represent my daughters, Julia and Claudia.  They can't wait for "Miss Kathy" to come.  Every year, right before they leave for their dad's house, we always go to a "Paint your own pottery" place.  I guess this year we will get to do it again!

Que Pasa?

Wow, this day really got away from me.  I do have a card to share.  It is for the Pink Elephant Challenge which required something printed, script, etc.

I used a background stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms which is in Spanish.  I used the Spanish Magnolia, coloring her attire as if she were a little flamenco dancer.  I added glitter to her lace and the rose in her hair.  I added dimension glaze to her shoes.

The strand of bling actually comes from the gift wrap section of the Container Store! 

With all the "words" on the front, I put the sentiment on the inside, this time.

I think this turned out pretty well!

Hopefully, between laundry, housecleaning and grocery shopping tomorrow, (before and after the Daytona 500), I will find time to make a card or two and blog!!!  Until then, Happy Stamping!

Thank you, you're an angel

Hello!  Today it's Margaret posting today.  Kathy is in Mississippi but she will be back tomorrow.  By the way, tomorrow is also her birthday!  I would post her card tomorrow but unfortunately being in a new house with a new camera, I haven't yet figured out how to get the best lighting...so once I sent off her card and downloaded the photos, all of them were blurry! (interestingly they were NOT blurry on the viewfinder...LOL).  Anyway, today I'm posting a card of a Magnolia stamp.  I was recently surprised with a lovely surprise gift of a spice set from Penzey's.  So here is a card I made  to say Thank You.  The photo was taken with my iPhone--a much better rendition of what I got compared to my Nikon D90.    I'll get better with practice I know!  Well enjoy the card...til next time.  Thanks for stopping by!
