Dashing thru the snow

Sorry I missed posting last night.  We lost our power and there were tornadoes in the area much of the evening and night.  We are supposed to get a rerun tonight and tomorrow.  Fortunately, not as bad as Oklahoma got it.  We did lose a sheriff and park ranger, while a number of others were injured.  Mother Nature can truly cause havoc.

Time to start working more diligently on Christmas cards.  I know, it seems like an odd thing to do when the outside temp is in the 90s, but what's a girl to do?

I bought this stamp at Simple Pleasures when I visited Margaret in CO last year.  It is a Poppy Stamps image and has a matching die (love it when that happens)!  I colored the image with Copics and Spicas.  The sentiment from AMuse is stamped with Encore Silver Metallic.  This dp is Provo Craft from 2008 (oh my) and cs is DCWV.  I used an MFT die for the snow slopes.  The image is popped up on the snow with 3M foam tape.  I followed the sketch at Always Playing with Paper.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - Photo inspiration - SNOW!
Crimbo Crackers - CUTE Christmas
Lizzy & Tamesis Christmas Challenge - photo inspiration - SNOW!
Outlawz - Copics/christmas - Friday

This was a fun card to make.  Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by!

A Hug Warms the Soul

You are stuck with me for the next week, as Margaret has company arriving tonight.  Hope I don't disappoint!

Tonight's card is a friendship card.  I have a friend that was diagnosed with breast cancer last week.  I hope to send a card to her at least twice a month, as well as participate in her Meal Train.

I used a Cheery Lynn die for the circle aspect of the sketch, which comes from The Sweet Stop.  I forgot to use the wax paper, so I spent quite a while picking out all the little pieces (while watching an episode of Mad Men I had taped, which made it less of a task!).  DP comes from Queen Bee, cs from DCWV.  MFT flower dies were used, with an extra large rhinestone in the center.  The Inky Antics sentiment is stamped with Soft Suede from SU!

I am also entering the following challenges:

Nutcrafters - mostly monochrome
Lexi's Creations - Focus on the sentiment
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Believe in Miracles

Hi everyone!
Margaret has given me quite a break and I have been busy making cards for a variety of needs.  Today I have a lovely sentiment card.

The image is from American Art Stamps, stamped with Versafine Imperial Purple.  Purple cs is DCWV and silver is from Wausau, while all the butterflies are from KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue.  The butterflies are made with a Cheery Lynn die and the scallops and butterfly border are from Memory Box dies Pearl Lace and Butterfly Chain.  I used 6 Swarovski crystals for bling.  The sketch comes from Flutterby Wednesday.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Lexi's Creations - Focus on the Sentiment
The Crazy Challenge - Use sentiments
Dutch Dare Card Challenge - Flutterby Butterfly
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes

Seize the cupcake

So I'm cheating today folks.  Even though I'm on summer break, I'm actually still working with deadlines...not to mention am trying to recuperate after this last semester so my mojo is really really low.  Spring semesters always seem harder to me than Fall.  So today, I'm posting a card my daughter made...but I do think it is very high quality.  Claudia has discovered the joy of following templates.  The only problem is that now that is one more thing I need to share with her (which we are still working on putting things back in their places after we finished using them!).

I am really happy with this card she made especially since I've never used this stamp and sentiment because I never felt inspired what to do with them.  (Impression Obsession image and Hero Arts sentiment)  I think it came out perfect!  And she dug through all the stashes and pulled out this patterned paper which I was saving to make baby scrapbook pages out of (which may never happen)...this paper is from 1999!  Talk about good use of stash.  She said this card will go to her grandma in North Carolina who celebrates in July.  As you can see, she follows after her mother's footsteps with loads of sparkly stuff (Stickles). :)  Although you can't tell, the cake plate is actually 3D and popped up with foam.  She "inserted" the cupcakes within the hollows.  She was cracking herself up making this card--and I can totally see her sense of humor coming out (She's just short of being a sugar holic--she blames it on me, her mother the nutritionist, who has scarred her since birth with tricking her into eating too many vegetables).  Or so that's her side of the story.  Speaking of that little stinker--I just got notified she started following one of my boards on Pinterest (It's almost 10pm!)  I need to go nip that in the bud right now!

Hope you enjoyed this cutie---Thanks for stopping by! Margaret

Teacher Appreciation #4

Hi everyone!
So I'm back with yes, yet another (and my last) teacher appreciation card.  Lesley, thank you for your lovely comment!  I appreciated it. :)

This time I have another rendition of the Sweet Innocence (MFT). with Spellinders die and Martha Stewart punch.  I really must get better with letting you know what type of DP I am using--I will do better next time. ;)  This card was for Julia's Math teacher whom we found out is getting married and moving out of town.  Now my other daughter won't get to have her.  :(

We had a gorgeous day in Colorado--too bad I was stuck working at home to appreciate it fully.  But in reality, it was almost too warm and definitely TOO bright to do anything outside in the heat of the day. I never thought I'd say this, but ... where's the rain? LOL

Well I hope you all are having fun on your Memorial Day Weekend!  Tomorrow I'll be back with two cards my daughter Claudia made for birthdays.  They are really great--I'm starting not being able to tell whether I made these cards or she has.  And she is loving it so much she wants to make sure HER name is posted on the bottom of her creations...AND that they get to go on the blog.  Such a cutie.

Thanks for stopping by on your vacation weekend.  Don't eat too much! :)  Margaret

Teacher appreciation 2 and 3

Happy Saturday everyone!
I just realized I forgot to post my card yesterday---so sorry!  But, to make up for it,  I will be posting TWO today.  :)  Both are teacher appreciation cards my daughter gave to her teachers.  The first one was for her history teacher (hence the red, white and blue) and the second for her Language Arts Teacher.  Just a short story aside, in the beginning of the year she would come home crying because she was so afraid of her LA teacher who had a sign in the classroom ("NO FUN").  By the end of the year, she became Julia's favorite teacher.  She pushed her hard, but because of it, she became a great writer and researcher.  This teacher was a former reporter--and a perfectionist like my daughter.  We were so appreciative of the advice she gave Julia not to overstress every assignment and just go with the flow.  :)  I just love all the teachers my children have had this year--they were fantastic and devoted educators--they all truly cared about the kids.  So why are they so underpaid when they shape the future minds of America?  I don't get it.

So first card...MFT with spellbinder dies.  Second card Magnolia with Spellbinder, SU (cut in half for sentiment) and MFT dies.  The sentment is from Stamping Bella.  Enjoy!  It is a beautiful sunny day in Colorado--quite a lovely change from all week when it was cold and rainy...even snowy at one point!  Today...almost 80!  We're off shopping.  Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day.  Will be back tomorrow with my last teacher appreciation card. :)  Margaret

Dream big

Hello everyone!
I'm back with yet another graduation card.  I found this stamp/sentiment set on sale at Unity Stamps and just loved it.  My daughter is very fond of giraffes (as is Kathy)...and I made this card for my parents to give to Julia (except they already had one)...so Claudia ended up giving it to her.  I don't often use those banners dies (MFT)--but I've seen so many cards made with them that I felt inspired to create something with them.  By the way...this is a very large stamp which surprised me when I opened it up!  It's almost 5.5 inches tall!  THe other die I used (the one on which Dream Big is stamped) is an SU die.

Julia also loved this one...

And tomorrow...will be another teacher card.... :)  Margaret

Joy

Just a quick post since Margaret has already posted today.

I have a Christmas card to share using the sketch at The Sweetest Thing.

I used Spellbinders nesties for the silver backgound papers and another nestie to cut out the sentiment from Verve, which is embossed with silver Ranger Extra Detail Embossing Powder.  I added several Swarovski crystals for bling.  Also, I used an MFT Fishtail die for the vellum flag, also embellished with Swarovskis.  All of this is popped up on a card base with 3M foam tape.

I am also entering the following challenges:

My Time to Craft - Christmas in May

Schmitzy got a good report at the vet today - no infection.  However, since he got sunburned on his back (2nd degree) a couple of weeks ago, we now need to put some kind of clothing on him to protect his back while it continues to grow new skin (this from his allergic reaction to an antibiotic in December) so he doesn't get burned again.  It's been a long road to recovery, but we are nearing the end.  Now we just need to treat what's left as a burn and hopefully his skin will toughen up and his hair will grow back (some of it already has, yea!)!

Happy Graduation

Hello everyone,
Today was an exciting day...which turned into a tiring one.  My daughter graduated from 8th grade.  I can't help but still remember the moment I held her for the very first time when she was born.  That little peanut is all grown up.  How time flies.  I got choked up several times today.  All that emotion has left me quite drained.

I am featuring today the card I made for her graduation.  It is modeled after her dress (see below).  The dies are Memory Box and Stampin Up with edging form Martha Stewart and sentiment from Stampin Up.  I can't remember the paper as it is downstairs and I'm too tired to go check (sorry!)    No challenges today...am beat.  I have several more cards to post over the next several days--so bear with me.  Kathy's internet is out due to a storm.  Thank you for stopping by!  See you again tomorrow with another teacher card. :)  Margaret

To the teacher, part 1

Hi Everyone,
After a quite a long hiatus, I'm back!  I've been anything BUT vacationing however.  Just posted my grades and am visiting with my parents, so things are a bit busy.  However, I have about a thousand cards that I need to make so I'm plugging along this week--and relieving Kathy just in time.

Today's image is My Favorite Things' Sweet Innocence.  THis is the first out of a series of cards that I'm making for my daughter's teachers.  You will see this little girl several more times, but in different card designs.  The dies are Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn (Doily).  I am entering this card into the Sweet Stamps: 118 Sweet Cuts Dies Challenge  I do not have any of the Sweet Dies--They are newly released but the challenge does allow a Cheery Lynn Die--which I have plenty of. :)  However, if you're so inclined, do check out the Sweet Dies because they're BEAUTIFUL!  You can find them HERE.  You know what I'll be doing when I get paid again later this month.  :)

Tomorrow I will be back with a card I made for Julia's graduation.  Until then, see you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by. Margaret

Lacy Butterfly

You get me, Kathy, again tonight.
Margaret will be back with you tomorrow!

I have a lacy butterfly card for you tonight utilizing the design at Fetch-a-Sketch.

I used a Cheery Lynn die and angel wing that Margaret gave me.  This has to be one of the most beautiful butterfly dies that I own, and I own quite a few. I am somewhat of a butterfly collector!
The dp comes from the Basic Grey Two Scoops pad.  CS is DCWV and pearls come from my stash.  I saved the sentiment for the interior of the card since I couldn't get it to fit on the outside without taking away from the design.

I am also entering the following challenges:

kreativeinkauf-challenge - Everything that flies
Get Inky - die cuts

Schmitzy has to make another trip to the vet.  His healing has ceased after 5 months of progress :(.  He's hurting again and I am hoping he doesn't have an infection.  Will post an update tomorrow.

Schmitizy says thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Dog

Here we go, another week begins!
I can hardly believe we are more than halfway thru May! Tomorrow is my early day to go to work.  I have an 8am meeting, but that means I need to leave the house by 6:30am, a tad earlier if I want to pick up a latte along the way (and yes, I will be stopping at Starbucks so I will stay awake!).

I have a birthday card to share tonight.  I challenged myself to make a CAS card, something I rarely do because I find it very difficult.

I used Inky Antics stamps for the image and sentiment.  They are stamped with Memento and colored with Copics.  I added Crystal Stickles to the cupcake icing.  The background is embossed using a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder.  I mounted this on red cardstock after popping up my pup with 3M foam tape.

I am entering the following challenges:

The Latest Buzz...

Hi guys!  It's me, Kathy, back with a card tonight.
This one uses the sketch from The Sweet Stop (SSS211).

Nothing fancy tonight, just a keep in touch card.

I used a Stampendous image that Margaret gave me for my BD many years ago!  Well, not that long ago, but it seems like it since she moved to CO!

The dp is KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue.  I used nesties for the squares and MFT Fishtail dies for the banners.  The image is stamped on a diecut from the dp pad.  I have no clue where the sentiment is from as it is unmounted rubber.  I colored the image with Copics and Spicas and spread Crystal Stickles over the wings.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Everybody Art - purple
Polka Doodle - spring colors

Pinwheel

Happy Thursday evening one and all!
I get my car back from the shop tomorrow!  Yea!
Since I will have to drive all the way to Little Rock on a day I normally stay home, I am planning to visit my my friend and her mom and my friend's almost 4mo old baby.  Hey, if you gotta drive an hour to get to town, you might as well make it worth your while!  Her mom goes back to Argentina next week, so I need to start thinking about a card for her!

Tonight I made a card using the sketch at Tuesday Morning.  I thought I could put something together quickly, but then I started browsing my digital stamps.  So then I had chose and sized 3 pages of stamps.  Once I did that, I needed to decide which best fit the sketch.  Then the dp paper decision so I could choose my Copic colors.  After that, the accessories.  This is how I usually put a card together (sketch, image, dp, Copics, accessories).  How do you do it?  I know Margaret and I differ in our methods.

This is a Lori Boyd digital image, colored with Copics and accented with Spicas.  DP os MME Happy Day and cs is DCWV.  I used a teeny tiny pink Swarovski for the center of the pinwheel and large orange rhinestones for the flower center and top edge.  The orange ribbon is SU! pumpkin and the pink ribbon is from my stash.  I used MFT dies for the flower and Spellbinders Labels 20 for the image.

Copics used: E00, E0000, E11, E31, R20, R21, R83, Y17, Y21, Y32, YR15, YR16, YR18, 0.
Clear Spica was used on the daisies on her shoes, pinwheel, vest and pony tail holders (called loosies at our house because they are found all over the place - you know, they are on the loose!).  This designation is courtesy of my DH!

Hugs & Laugh

I'm watching an exciting Chicago Fire as I write this post!
Do you like this show?
I have gotten into it at the behest of a friend.  Now I'm hooked!

Tonight's card uses the sketch at The House That Stamps Built.

The sentiment is from Stampendous and the dies are MFT.  I used DCWV dp and cs.  Ink is a freshly opened Dew Drop of Memento Rhubarb Stalk.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Got word that my car has made it to the paint shop.  Maybe I can get it back tomorrow or Friday!!!

Remember

Hi Peeps!
I had to rent a car while my car is at the body shop.  Well, unfortunately, they put some kind of air freshener in it that I am unable to get rid of even after multiple sprayings of Febreeze.  The car STINKS!
I am very allergic to fragrances and by the time I drove the 10 miles to work, I could hardly speak.  I am running the A/C at full blast and spraying more Febreeze when I am at stoplights.  I hope my car is ready by Friday because I dread the thought of keeping it over the weekend!

So, while I am somewhat perturbed over this situation, I decided to do an uplifting card!

Now before everyone starts emailing to tell me these aren't roses, I am aware of this.  Just think of them as the knock-out roses, they look similar.  These are actually peonies, but I don't have a sentiment for peonies and I couldn't find any roses!  This stamp is from Stampendous.  I actually bought this while at The Ink Pad in NYC while shopping with Margaret a number of years ago when we first started stamping!

I realized as I started coloring the leaves with Copics that heat embossing and Copics do not agree with each other.  The embossing bleeds.  So I quickly switched to Tombows, but maintained using the Copics (carefully) for the leaves. I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background panel and mounted both panels on black.  The sentiment, a G Studio/Hampton Art Michael's dollar bin stamp from 2010, was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.
This sketch comes from The Sweet Stop (SSS210).

Grad Congrats

Happy new week!  Beautiful day here and hope it was the same wherever you reside.  I am back tonight with a card for the Wednesday challenge at MFT.

This is for another nephew that is graduating this year.  I used his school colors to make it more personal.  The dp is old, old SU! and the cs is Wausau specialty paper.  I used MFT dies for the fishtails and Spellbinders for the stars.  The sentiment is a digital freebie from Scrapalicious Times.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Best teacher ever

Hello everyone!
Well, I was partying too much yesterday--thank you Kathy for posting.  I woke up to two sweet angels singing Happy Birthday.  This was followed by opening presents and the girls made me a fanstastic breakfast: eggs, sausage, bacon, strawberry smoothie and coffee.  We then packed up Daisy and some water bottles and headed out to Garden of the Gods for a nice walk.  This was Daisy's first time and she went nuts!  She slept so hard all day after that.  Once we brought her home, we headed back out to do some shopping (girls needed some shoes for graduation) and a nice relaxing time at Barnes and Noble.  Then we headed onto dinner.  The only downside was that the girls are sick--really stuffed up with colds and coughing and just plain old cold misery.  By the time we got back from dinner it was rather late but we still watched our movie night before going to bed.  I never checked work email once...and still live!  Maybe I need to do that more often. :)

So today I spent making a card for one of Claudia's teachers.  This is her Language Arts teacher and she is very special to Claudia--and the only one who is getting a teacher appreciation this year!  Claudia asked me to make her a card so that it is perfect.  You see Claudia has always struggled with reading.  She doesn't like to read, she is overwhelmed with it--quite the opposite from her sister.  Her standardized also show she struggles.  Well, this year Claudia has been getting an A+ in Language Arts all semesters (and will be getting one for her 4th semester).  This teacher really brings out the best in her--and it helps she is a fashion diva just like Claudia (they compare nail colors and clothes...LOL).  Anyway...at first one may think Claudia is just a teacher's pet--but her standardized test scores also have soared so it is NOT an artifact.  So we credit this teacher for bringing out what we all knew Claudia has within her...a great writer and reader!  For her card I used  a Stampin Bella image (sentiments stamping Bella and SU)  Inside it says "You deserve an A+"...I hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by.   No challenges today for me.  Just wanted to do what I wanted to do on the card. :)  Margaret

Congrats

It's Margaret's birthday
and she's not feeling well tonight (too much celebration???), so I am here with a post.

I have a graduation card to share.  It's not a typical grad card because it contains some of my DH's sense of humor.  I will explain below.

The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn, as are the matching dies (fortune cookies, chopsticks & banners).  The take-out box is fussy cut.  I used BG Capella dp and DCWV cs.  The frame is  a die cut by Memory Box.  I popped up the fortune and chopsticks with 3M foam.

Now for the inside:

Nothing unusual, right?
Okay, now check out what is above this part on the inside of the card:

This winter, when my s-i-l sent a photo of her son playing basketball, my husband's comment back to her was "Thou needeth a haircut".  (He attends a Christian academy).

We received the grad announcement with his nephew's photo and even longer hair, that reminded my husband of his earlier comment.  So he asked me to prepare a card with some thing said about a haircut.  Thus, the card I have posted here.  {I am married to the big teaser of the family}.  Really, he could care less that the young man's hair is long, but knows that the comment will get his sister going (it's a lil' bro thing).

So, this is my contribution to the event.  We'll send along some cash, because what kid couldn't use some of that?!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Dillybeans - celebrations
Penny's Paper-Crafty - die-cuts/punches
As You Like It - die cuts
I would say the Memory Box die is my fave, because I love layering the frame behind images, but since I bought this Good Fortune set, my mind is racing with all the things I can do with it!

Happy Birthday

Hi Peeps!
I was so surprised by Margaret's post last night!  I really needed that break.
I'm back now and I've got a darling little BD card to share tonight.

I used the sketch from Seize the Birthday.  My dp is very old SU! Patterns Pack II.  I colored the Amuse image with Copics and Spicas and stamped the sentiment from There She Goes in Versafine Black Onyx.

Here's a photo of the inside of the card:

I didn't stamp a sentiment on the interior because it's going in my stash of cards to use as needed, so I will stamp something appropriate at that time.  I used an EK Success punch for the little scallop border.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Wags and Whiskers - girly birthday
Lexi's Creations - happy birthday

All dressed up for a graduation to go

Hi Everyone,
I'm surprising Kathy here and relieving her for a change.  She's had a pretty rough week this week actually.

We are having our student poster presentations and after, I am taking my special two out to lunch.  A few days ago I posted the first card. Today I am posting the second.  I am very excited to give this to them!  They were a couple of good eggs and it's always so sad to see the good ones go.

The card today is also a dress card.  I consulted with my daughters about whether I should make a different card, or keep with the dress theme and they told me absolutely the dress.  So here's take two.  I think this one came out even more ornate than the last one!  The edging and banner are MFT, Memory Box frame and SU dress die and sentiment.  Patterned paper is My Mind's Eye.  I love this card so much I don't want to give it up.  I always say that! LOL  The bling you see are Swarovski crystals.  I hope they enjoy it and are surprised!  Do y'all think I have enough bling on here and sparkle??

Thanks for stopping by!  Will see you this weekend.  I am tickled pink to see so many wonderful comments on the card that Kathy made me for my birthday--I absolutely cannot wait to get it!  The only thing missing from my birthday this weekend will be her and our yearly tradition of going to Macaroni Grill.  :(  Margaret

PS...I am entering this card into the Feminine and Fancy Challenge for Try It On Tuesday!

No Matter

I decided I need a 3-day weekend so tomorrow is my last day of work for the week!  I am so excited.  I need some time in my art room!  Yea!

Tonight's card is another doggie card.  I am the memorial/donor coordinator for a 100% volunteer animal rescue and regularly send cards out.  So you will likely see a theme if you visit my blog frequently!

I used a stamp from Cloud 9 that is stamped with Versafine Sepia.  I added 2 little pawprints to the sentiment to complement the background paper.  The papers are all DCWV Dog Stack.  The borders and fishtails are made with MFT dies and the ovals are nesties.  I added some blue Kaiser rhinestones to the border edge.

The sketch comes from The Sweet Stop.  I really like this one and may try it again before this challenge closes, or at least put it in my must keep sketches file!

On My Mind

There's  a little irony to my post tonight.  The last month has been very trying, to say the least.  I got a new car in January, replacing a 9 yo RAV and in the last 4 weeks I have had a fender bender, a hole in a sidewall that required the purchase of a new tire and then I hit my husband's car Friday night while backing out of our garage.  You would think that I am a horrible driver, but this is the first time I ever caused a wreck in all my years.  Needless to say, all this is ON MY MIND!  Hopefully my days of disasters will be fewer!!!

This is one of the new Angie Blom stamps from Unity.  She is fun to color!  I used Copics then fussy cut her and mounted her on DCWV cs.   Used a Memory Box die for the sentiment, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.
Simple!

E0000,E00,E11,R20,G43,G46,Y17,E34,E35,E37,E57,B21,B23,B24,G07 plus black Copic Spica.

Life's too short...

This is a very special day!
It's the day I reveal Margaret's birthday card!
It will go in the mail tomorrow, so before I pack it up with her birthday gifts (which she knows are stamps - just not what ones), I
thought I would give her a preview since she absolutely
hates to wait!  AND she can't keep a secret (mostly) so I will give in
to her whims.

I used a Stamping Bella image & sentiment (Vienna & her Vespa), colored with Copics and Spicas.  The dp is MME Happy Day and cs is DCWV.  The fabulous button is from Basic Grey (can't remember which collection).  SU! punches were used for the sentiment and ribbon is from stash.  The sketch comes from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Here is a view of the interior:

and in case you are interested, all the colors I used making this card.

Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day

Hello Everyone!
If you're like me, you may be having a case of the dreads as the workweek starts in a few short hours.  On top of everything, I've began taking a course that started today and will last every weekend through the summer.  It's great, but pretty tiring.  SO, I didn't get a chance to do my other card BUT my daughter shared the cards she made for me for Mother's Day and my Birthday (May 11).  She's like her mother--just can't keep a good secret to herself.  :)  I certainly don't mind because I'm tickled pink with these cards.  You would NOT be able to tell a 12 year old made them!
Below: Birthday card using Magnolia Spellbinders and Cuddlebug (I assume).

Below: Mother's Day, made with Stampin Up (no idea for sentiment) and lots of SU punches
She is not too happy with them.  Do you know why?  Because, as she said, "they're not sparkly enough".  She wanted to rip them up and make new ones, but then had a change of heart and offered to sell them to her sister  for $5 each (to give to me).  Her sister got upset because it challenged her own creativity.  These two are a hoot...endless entertainment.
Well thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a great week.  Summer is ALMOST HERE.  YES!  Margaret

SSS209: Looking fine in that cap and gown

Hello everyone!  I am excited to share my card with you today.  I have two special students graduating and am taking them to lunch on Thursday, after their presentations.  I need to make two cards, but was only able to make one today--but it is SPARKLY and I LOVE how it came out (though it did take several tries to perfect it).  Now I'm undecided whether I should make a completely different card for the other one or just a different type dress. LOL!  I'm using the Sweet Spot SSS209 challenge sketch for this card today.

I can't remember the name of the patterened paper I used but as you can see there's quite a few sparkly papers.  Dies are from Stampin Up (dress), Paper Trey (Banners and edging) and Memory Box (ovals).  The sentiment is Stampin Up.  I put two Swarovski Crystals on each shoulder and as you can see from the photo, there's some bling on this card!  I want to save it for myself. LOL.
Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you continue having a lovely weekend...Margaret

It's a Funny Thing

Oh what a day!
I backed into my husband's car, causing damage to both, ugh!
I put the wrong bird food in the feeders, so that had to be swapped.
I knocked over a small bookcase in my art room - no damage, but whole lot of noise...2 dogs came running to see what happened, never saw the other two, which usually run and hide at that kind of racket.
Good thing it is getting close to bed time!

Tonight I am sharing the card that uses the MFT sketch for last week.

I'm pleased with how this turned out, because the paper is what makes it.  Basic Grey has put out some beautiful pads, haven't they??!!

Stamps and dies are MFT.  Versafine Black Onyx ink was used for the sentiment.  I added Swarovski crystals along with a rhinestone flourish.  All papers are Basic Grey Ambrosia except for the black DCWV cs.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Southern Girls - You can say that again
The Perfect Sentiment - Make it feminine
Word Art Wednesday - Inspirational, anything goes

Kisses

Oh my, where did the time go?  I totally missed yesterday's
post!  Between work, doctor's appt., consult with the vet, miscellaneous shopping errands, and the fact that we live an hour from town, I managed to forget to post!  Shame on me...however,

I have a cute card tonight!

I used this darling Penny Black image, colored her with Copics (E31,Y21,Y32,E0000,E00,E11,R20,R24,R83) and Spicas, then cut her out and mounted her on Nestie die cuts.  The heart is a Spellbinder die, as well.  I used Authentique Essentials Collection dp, DCWV cs and Canson specialty silver metallic paper.  The sentiment is stamped in Encore Metallic Silver.  The gray ribbon is from my stash.  The sketch comes from the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  I added som Kaiser rhinestones for a finishing touch.

I am also entering the following challenge:

Mad for Markers - made for a girl
